Native american mermaid tail?

I need help coming up with ideas for a Native american tail. All I need is help with the top and Accessories! Any ideas are welcome. :)

I think it would be a good idea to look at classic tops and clothing for native american women and just fishify them. Instead of leather, make the material scale patterned. Itstead of clay beads, use small seashells etc.

I am making a simple teal tail. It also has to be warm. I am doing this for an event in October and since I live up north it will be cold. I am think I will wear a dark long sleeved leotard. Than I was going to make a seaweed belt with stuff from my local creek sewed on to it.

I was about to say the same thing :D I'm native american and first nation so I feel like I should be of more help :lol: anyway i suggest that you have a more beaded top IDK what your budget is but I do sell some beaded tops on my etsy shop :D

There are along costal tribes. They believed that mermaids protected the waters and in return for the tribes respecting them and the sea, mermaids would bring them a good fishing season and luck to the lucky one who spotted one ;)

On spandexworld is a fabric that already looks a lot like this (I call it "rainbow"),
you'd just have to add the spots and dots :)

It is a truly awesome design.
If only I had unlimited funds...my tail-collection would rival that of my dance dresses lol!
