Help with my top?

Hey guys! I'm making my tail soon and I'm trying to decide what I should do about a top. In my religion, we're not supposed to wear bikinis. So any ideas on what I should wear? I could wear a skin color tank top, but I don't know if the fabric will turn dark when it hits water...So I'm totally open to any ideas!!!

How about a one piece with maybe a mer top over it? It could be quite cute depending on how you do it.

Mermaid Kariel made a nude tankini top covered in sequins that match her tail, you could go that route... or you could turn a bustier into a top.... check in the tops/clothing thread, you'll see lots of ideas. Good luck!

What about making a vest? You could make it out of really flowy fabrics that look really pretty underwater. Or, you could get a dancer's skin-toned leotard like they do at Disney when the weather is cold for Ariel:

Make some bracelets for the wrists to cover the ends, make a necklace for the neckline, and you can either wear a bikini on top of the leotard, or add shells to it accordingly ^_^

Some places make these really pretty tops that almost look like a pirate ladys corest. They look really pretty, im not sure who sells them but i know ive seen mers in them before. the cover down to you belly button.
