I've heard so many things about GE Silicone II and it's complicating my decision about which silicone to use for my tail. I'm making a partial silicone tail with neoprene and silicone scales on top. I've heard that people use the GE Silicone II and have no problems with it but others are saying that it's not safe at all. From what I've read directly from GE, it is 100% silicone and is completely waterproof. It does release ammonia when it is curing and should be used in a well-ventilated area and can cause headaches. It also warns to be careful with skin contact but I have not figured out exactly the side effects of skin contact.

If anyone knows anything from use on their own tail or other experiences that would be a great help!

The product will work on your tail. You just have to understand a few things about it. It isn't the best silicone out there and is not skin safe. However you have the neoprene barrier between you and it. It is not recommended to use this stuff as it is lower grade and will eventually degrade and fall apart. It is only caulking after all. Most likely the ammonia will soak the neoprene underneath. Be sure that it is well ventilated or it wont dry. Protect your self by wearing proper safety equipment, Vinyl gloves, respirator, and eye protection. Once it is fully cured you should be fine to touch your tail with your bare hands. Good Luck!

it's typically used for spot fixes or seaming on dragonskin tails, I'm not sure about making a whole tail out of it.
