I found this video on Youtube about misconceptions for whales in captivity. I find it very sad, but I also learnt some things I never knew, such as how porpoises sleep. It also helped me to understand why whales sometimes harm their trainers or tankmates, when in the wild they're usually peaceful and friendly. It also helps me back up my opinion on aquariums and, by extension, zoos. I also just don't like how they're, as I say, "put on display" for people to gawk at.

The video is nearly 8 minutes long, so only watch it if you have time because I recommend watching the whole thing :3

This is the channel I found it on, 'Freedom For Whales' : http://www.youtube.com/user/freedomforwhales?feature=watch

Good video. Watch it, even though it's terribly sad!

Glad I've never spent any money on "Marine Parks".
Marine park really is an euphemism; I'd imagine some protected ocean enclosure (really large) with that term,
not a bathtub with a jeering crowd around it.
Add the glaring lights and sounds- it's a Sea Circus.

Should be abolished, really.
Rather make some laws truly protecting cetaceans and other marine life in freedom.

I have never been to any marine parks. By the looks of the video the whales look so huge compared to the space around them. I never thought about what they go through. Wow. Do they stay there thier whole lives? Do they ever get to be in the wild?
