Anybody have any ideas on how to come up with a little extra money? (I'm not old enough to have a job) And I babysit. I would love to hear any ideas about creative ways to get money! Thanks!

Do you have a special talent like making trinkets/jewelry, sewing, or crocheting?

I've been in the same situation as you as a college student with a lack of cash. I could get a job but I don't really have time with school and everything. I started babysitting as well and I also started selling clothes that I don't want anymore. Places like Plato's closet or thrift stores often buy used clothes in good condition. It won't give you a lot of cash but it frees up some closet space! You can always ask your parents too. I know it's not the most ideal situation but it could work!

I'm not sure what you're currently saving up for, but if this is a first tail then I really recommend making a homemade fabric tail. If you can find a sewing machine to use, the major expenses are a monofin (around $60) and some fabric (if you buy from the clearance section at macro international you can get a 50" x 80" sheet for $20).

If the total cost were to go as high as $150, at minimum wage that takes about 20 hours of work to save up for.

I think you should find a crazy cat lady and scoop the litterboxes :)

Oh! You could also walk dogs, that's always fun.

Kakarotte: I can sorta crochet but I'm a lot better at drawing!
Mermaid Elena: Oooh! That's a good idea! Thanks(:
Lexi: Hahaha! Yeah, I'm not as fortunate enough to have a crazy cat lady in my neighborhood that I know of!
Mermaid Elena: That's a good idea, except somebody already stole that job:'(
I think I might get hired to scrub this ladies house (she's moving) and I'm getting hired more to babysit!

You can always set up a Deviant Art page, target a certain fandom niche, and do commissions for like $20 a piece.

Another idea is reading books to an old lady ... it's a kind of babysitting but daytime ... schedule a class after each reading session and then you'll have a nice excuse to go in time

Also ask for help to your parents. A friend of mine he got his first body board thanks to his mum. He asked her for permission to get a job during the summer. He's 15 so he couldn't work but her mum took him to the local supermarket and asked for work. They rejected him but the next summer they hired him and later he quitted to enjoyed his body board.

In my case, my parent always said that our "job" was study so if we asked for something expensive they set a school goal, the bicycle was 5 sobresalientes = 90-100% in five subjects ... you might be able to negotiate something similar with your parents.

For future a nice summer job related with mermaids is lifeguarding, you can get the qualifications before 16

Lots of people make money selling stuff on eBay, or on Etsy. What about making mermaid accessories (like there aren't lots of people doing that, LOL :) ) and selling them?

I knew one guy who was making a lot of money selling used video games on eBay. He had worked in a video game store, and knew what games were really in demand, then bought them from people locally and sold them on the internet. If you have some area of knowledge about what's valuable to other people, you can use this to sell things to them.

Edit: if you're too young to get a job, you'll probably need your parents to vouch for your eBay account and help you get PayPal, so people can pay you for their purchases.

Seconded. Though if its a new DA account you may not be able to sell commissions for $20 ea until you game more of a following. If you draw really well, maybe see is any libraries will hire you to teach classes (I just got hired for 2 libraries in AZ, and seeing you're from here too, I know that libraries hire people who aren't exactly professional. )
