Etsy Help?

So last week I made my first etsy sale, I sold a pair of COG tags from the video game Gears of War. I was ready to ship them out on friday, but I hadn't received my money yet. I need the money to ship the product out. :P So I did some sleuthing and found out that I need to mark the product as "shipped" before I get my money. So I marked it as shipped. That was on friday. Its monday now and I still don't have money in my account. My customer payed through direct deposit, which, as far as I'm aware, means the money should go straight to my bank account instead of through paypal. I hate paypal. Anyways, I'm going to wait a couple more hours, its about noon here right now, so its still early in the day, but shouldn't the money be in my account by now? The banks open at 8am, so the computers have been online for 4 hours already.

So does anyone know how the paypal ordering process is supposed to work? I really want to get these tags shipped out to my client. She thinks they were shipped out last friday. I'm shipping them out today regardless of if I have my money or not, it'll only cost like a dollar. But I still need the money for the product itself. :s

It kinda depends on your bank, some of them wait 24 to 48 hours or even longer to credit a direct deposit to your account.

Maybe you should get ahold of your buyer to let them know about the wait, just in case they're wondering what's going on.

I think you'll get your money when the customer get the goods. Paypal is an mediator that ensure you have your money before you sell; and ensure the buyers get their shop or their money back.

A part of this, bank transferences are not instant between different banks entities, just in case somebody make a mistake

Actually paypal holds the money as well until it is shipped. Your first 5 or so items on etsy they hold until after you ship, after your first 5 they believe that you are legit and you get your money when someone places their order.
