My chihuahua had been limping for a few days. I took her to the vet today, and it turns out she'll need knee surgery. She's only a year old. Might end up being $1-2,000. Need prayers, guys :(

Our late dog had dozens of surgeries- knees, hips, belly, countless warts and some tumors.
She still lived to a ripe old age for her size.

Vets usually are best with dogs and cats.

My parents had a foster dog once who turned out to have a badly broken hip ( for quite a while too from the look of things) , not that the previous owner told us our did anything about it. We were wondering why the poor boy didn't want to move around much. He felt so much better after his surgery, though the vet bills dipped pretty far into the foster funds. He was worth it of course.

I hope your girl recovers well, and I hope the bills don't set you back too far. Out of curiosity, what did they say the problem was?

Gorgeous puppy! My grandmother owned a chocolate lab that had severe hips and paw problems, she could barely walk and had to sleep in a cage in the garage because she couldn't get up the stairs. Thankfully they got her all fixed and she lived to the ripe age of 15.

Oh, poor little thing! She looks sweet. I have a chihuahua myself, I know how attached you can get to them. It's like having a furry daughter. Your little sweetie will certainly be in my prayers.

@MerEmma, you're right. Her mom was rescued from a puppy mill. She was 8 years old and had no teeth, and Fae and her bro were delivered via C section.

Ooh, my mom has a friend in Mississippi who had a dog with that same problem....though he wasn't a Chihuahua. I'll pray for your puppy. I have a foster dog right now, and she's recovering from surgery, so I know how those things go.

Oh goodness, I figured so. Poor puppy...puppy mills are just SO sad. Like I said, I hope it all works out for the best. <3
