Neoprene/Latex Mermaid tail

Heey,

I'm going to make a mermaid tail made of Neoprene and Latex. I live in Holland and it's very hard to find all the right stuf to make the tail. Neoprene here is cheaper but I can only find it in black/White of black/black. The latex is a bit more expensive here but if I'd buy it online there probably will be expensive shipping costs. I want to airbrush my tail diffrent shades of blue with createx. I heard that when you put the paint on the latex it will crack and I don't want that. I saw that some people put the paint on the Neoprene and then put the latex over it but I'm not sure if the colors will be less visable. Can somebody please help me out?

I think I'm going to leave the latex behind and just do a neopreme tail because I don't want to take the risk of messing it up with the latex. I think my tail wil still look amazing with the airbrush job. Before I airbrush it I'll put fishnet over the tail so there will be a scale pattern on my tail. :)
