Just thought I would share this. If this kicks off, plastic waste might become a commodity people desire to search out to make a profit. They might even turn to harvesting the "plastic ocean" if the demand becomes high enough. Its actually an incredibly clever idea. I wonder why I have not heard of any projects like this before?

Interesting. Maybe the structures do not meet the structural building codes here in the U.S. But thats a good idea that they are re-using and upcycling the plastic waste.

A quarter of the normal price of traditional building materials, AND reusing thrown out plastic?? Wow! Why hasn't someone thought of this before? And even if it doesn't meet building specs, it could always be used to build a cheap barn or woodshed.

It seems really easy for them to make too... they just turn it into confetti and then bake it. Viola, instant cheap building materials. I mean, yeah, we would have to use a little more advanced techniques for it to be used out here (fire resistant additives, testing, ect) but I dont see why we couldnt find a good use for something like that out here.

this would be great, though in my province in Canada we sell recycled plastic all the time :)
