Hi,
I recently made my tail but the fluke I made was a little too big for the monofin I had bought (being the wave) so I decided to try and extend it. Needless to say it worked somehow, and is swimmable, though doesn’t offer any help in propulsion, just aesthetics for the fluke size.
Made from the plastic that is used for high traffic walk areas (3mm plastic), to which I drilled holes into the monofin and and plastic to help with threading, once I had cut it to shape. Its held on by thick nylon thread I had lying around.
The edges of the fluke remain flippy (not a real word but it works) while still holding the fabric out. Sorry if the pics are a little blurry.
