Hello all!

I'm sure this post has been made before, but I can't seem to locate any threads with the exact answer.
I'm planning on making my own tail and I've been looking for the best place to buy a monofin. I know that most dive shops don't carry the fins, at least none near me do!

I'm looking for the most trusted (and best priced) places to buy monofins from! Right now I'm planning on starting out with a finis, most likely the wave due to my foot size.
I've seen so many different sites, all different prices and some having free shipping, some not.
I'm trying to find the most trusted sites out there that I can feel positive about buying from.

Thank you very much! :)

Amazon.com for sure! I got my fin three days after I ordered.

I don't know where you are, but here in Australia there are only Four Places to get monofins. Amazon, Ebay, Mahina and a Franchise of stores on the east coast called The Aqua Shop that only stocks Finis. Unluckily the Aqua Shop Isn't in my state, unless I want to spend 4 days driving or $600 on a flight to Melbourne, I'm stuck with Amazon or Ebay.

Amazon pros - Quick Express delivery, More Reliable Businesses, cheaper monofin price, less scammers.

Amazon Cons - American business, Very High shipping costs that are hidden until I go to pay, Express can cost up $30-$50 more. Payment via credit card.

Ebay Pros - Shipping costs listed clearly, Cheaper overall prices, Business from all over, Possibility of finding a cheaper monofin secondhand. (if you keep an eye out.) And Paypal is more secure.

Ebay Cons - Some people can inflate prices, (Always Comparison Shop, one scammer's selling $25 monofins for $400) Shipping can take forever and be unreliable, dealing with individuals instead of businesses, no guarantees, No warantees, Very few accept returns and if you need a Refund from a scammer (non-appearing item.) then you Have to pay via Paypal.

Mahina Mermaid- https://mahinamermaid.com/mahina-mermaid-store

Pros - Australian design, 100% recycled Rubber and Natural Plant dyes. Expensive, but cheaper than its first offering under the name Oceanika.

Cons - Shipping goes up outside of Australia. Merfin only fits up to a skinny Aussie size 8 Ladies. Adult sizes MAY be coming in the future... If they get enough sales/capital.

My First Monofin was a Finis Mermaids Monofin. It was $24, I paid $76 all up for it to arrive Express. It arrived after 3 days in a box big enough to fit four.

My Second Tail was an Merfin (Mermaid Mahina's, from back when they were called Oceanika.) HUGE Size Improvement. It was a Christmas Present from my Beloved Boyfriend and cost him $115 including Express Shipping.
I love it. The only way I can upgrade is to get a Competitor Monofin.

My first reply may or may not have sent.

Sadly after measuring I don't fit Mahinas tails :(
I was super determined to get one until I did the measurements and then I found my feet were a half an inch too big....

I live in the east cost of Canada, so my options are a bit limited I found.

I'll definitely check out what you recommended to me.
I'm also seeing if there's any chance that the dive shops will carry the fins either now or in the future here, as well as cost.

I'm in the same boat.
I'd like an Oceanika (), but my feet are a tad too long for them.
When shipping costs for any product exceed the actual price of the item, my mood gets really bad :p

If you are content with a Finis, ordering from amazon would indeed be the best choice (if you happen to have a local amazon provider, that is).

So it seems! I'll defiantly creep amazon, how do you find out if you have a local provider?

Many countries have local amazon warehouse centers and their own amazon page
(amazon.co.uk for Britain, amazon.it for Italy, amazon.de for Germany, amazon.cn for China, and so on).

You can check if you have something local, so you can save on shipping costs.
Australia doesn't have their own amazon.
I'm not sure about Canada.
