Hi - I'm not new here, but I've been gone for ages.

How is everyone? I'm hoping to get caught up and have time for the forum again. It's such a unique feel here, nothing like it anywhere else.

I moved last September from a land locked area back to my home town, and I'm lucky enough to have found a place on the cliffs overlooking the sea. The building does- my apartment doesn't face the water, but I can hear the waves all the time. I am listening to them now. :)

Just wanted to say hi to anyone who remembers me- I wasn't around for a terribly long time as it was.

:)

Thank you, I doubt I'll be able to spend as much time here as I'd like, but I do hope to stop in now and then. :)

Welcome back! I am relatively new here, too! Kinda got a slow start because we were moving, and then lost my soul horse, then my Mom. The year started in a bit of a fog! But coming here and finding all the Mers, their stories, and that everyone is so talented and helpful, quite a range of hu-mer and funstuff, too!

I love the sound of waves when I visit my friend in Gloucester, MA. Even tho she is 1/4 - 1/2 mile away you can still hear them! That's where I'm going when I get my tail done to have some pix taken. The rocks and shore are beautiful. I can only appreciate your love of the ocean from my short visits to her home.

Would love to hear more of what you're doing... Mer-wise. I find refuge and comfort here, and lots of incredible ppl.

I'm so sorry for your loss. :(

I know what you mean, I get the same thing. I feel so at home here, which is HIGHLY unusual for me. When I was stuck in Portland, where I lived for three years, I think this place was my refuge. The closest thing I could get to being back by the sea, outside of the Steller's Cove exhibit at their zoo.

I haven't been doing a lot outside of being a mama to my toddler for the past six months, I'm finally feeling like maybe a muse is whispering in my ear for the first time in ages. I hope she sticks around.

I'm glad you find it so comforting here. Everyone needs something like that.

So you were a WW mermaid? That is fabulous! Is there a thread where you talk about it? :D

Thanks DeepBlue! And your muse will stick around and harrass you to get your fish-tail back in the water! We are here! Bring your wee mer to the sea! Babies love water! Enjoy the moments. They are only this young once! If you knit or crochet, there are a couple of really cute mer tails for infants floating around on the net. It would be fun for you to make, or just do a spandex tail for your wee one. They are cute too! If you do, please take pix and post if you think its safe! Would love to see your wee-mer in a tail!

She's nearly four- it's going by fast. I need to get her swimming lessons. We have the beach literally down stairs. She always wants to go to the water, look at the tide pools. She wants a Oceanika merfin, but I told her, it's for after swim lessons. :)

Thanks! I was so happy when I found that pic, because it looks just like us. :) It's a Sailor Jerry tattoo he designed in Hawaii in the 60s.

Ahhh DeepBlue! They grow up so fast! I watched my niece and nephew do the same thing, now he's graduating from HS end of June and his sister is almost there, too! I keep looking at their pix and it just doesn't hit me that they are nearly adults, when "yesterday" was the first day of kindergarten!

Do get her swimming lessons, she is already drawn to the ocean, a true mermaid, with salt in her veins! Her muse is definitely working with her, to love the creatures of the ocean! And boy, aren't they way to smart! Knows already about Oceanika Merfins.... Who did that I wonder! LOL! Smart girl you have there!

Perfect Tatoo, I thought the work looked familiar, just couldn't place it!
