Hey guys :)
I am new to the forum and have been researching quality mermaid tails for quite some time now. I have noticed that many of you are quite crafty in things 'mer' related. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to make me a tail or know someone who would? I know there are many, fairly expensive tails out there that I currently cannot afford due to my "college student working at Applebees" status. I can supply the monofin if needed (out of my old fabric tail) and would be really excited to work with any of you. Thanks for reading and happy swimming!

Its an understandable question, but unfortunately there isn't anyone who can make an inexpensive silicone tail for you. Anyone who is talented at making silicone tails and is willing to sell them is already a professional tailmaker, and $1000+ is the going rate for high end tails. For people who want to upgrade from fabric tails to something nicer, I really think that people overlook other options that aren't as expensive as silicone, like painted neoprene for example. Stuff like that is much less expensive, and its well within the ability of anyone who's ever made a fabric tail.
we also have a wonderful list of reviews for various tailmakers

Unfortunately the cost of making a silicone tail from scratch is expensive. You will have to purchase a tail from a tailmaker if you want one.
We are not wealthy enough to be handing them out for free :(
on here we're either saving every last penny to buy our own, or saving every penny to make our own.
Sorry we can't help you on your quest for a free tail :(

You could also buy a ticket for Kanti's raffle here (http://atlantiswavedancers.forumotion.com/t34-raffle-custom-full-dragonskin-silicone-tail) and hope for the best :)

Thank you for your advice and responses. I never mentioned anything about getting a free tail- I just wanted help to find one somewhere that was realistic and fit in my price range.

What is your price range? I saw you posted on the thread about my partial silicone tails. I started taking orders already.

My price range should be right around $500ish. Do you have pictures of your tails?

Check out Mertailor too- he does partial silicone for around 600 with shipping. It's true you didn't say you wanted a tail for free, but you didn't give a whole lot of info other than you're short on cash and want a better tail. That can rub some scales the wrong way, considering how long and hard most of us have worked to get what we have.

Yes, I didn't mean to make an accusation or offend, but because of the lack of info provided and simply asking for someone to make you a tail, it did seem like you were after something for nothing. I think we're all a bit too used to people badgering those with youtube accounts and/or facebook pages with "Will you make me a tail" and "Can you get the person who made your tail to make me one".
But I hope you do find what you are looking for. :)
