So I have to show you all my new hair color for the summer.

11899

There are 6 different tones through out. 3 different values of teal as well as 3 values of blue. I could not have asked for a better coloring. It was like she crawled inside my brain and knew exactly what I had visioned. (more images on my facebook page) The pictures do not do justice to the amazing job that was done.

Does anyone else have any fun, funky, and mermaid hair color/styles? Show them off!!!!

I have several blue and green wigs, and soon a special latex hairtop with green tentacle hair :D
I hope it will stay on better underwater.

But now that I think about it...having teal hair for real is very tempting!

Ooh pretty! I use an aquamarine for a layer underneath, and at my hairline, but it's in need of touch up, and I dyed over the hairline for lack of time.

I really like what you've done with your ends. I might have to go with something like that in the future... but my hair is black, so it won't be exactly the same. :)

I can't wait to color mine. I just manic panic it. I had to bleach it first though, because my hair is dark brown. >.<

I have to do the same- bleach first. But on bleached hair, aquamarine manic panic stays pretty well. I prefer Paint Box and Special Effects, though, when I can easily get them. Do we have a 'best hair dyes' thread? Maybe we should.

I really like the curls at the end effect on the pics.

Thanks so much everyone. I too have to have the ends lifted (bleached to a light yellow) to make the color really pop. The salon artist that did my hair curled it so she could take photos for her portfolio. Typically my hair is pin straight naturally.
I am not a fan of hair up-keep. Thats why I just did the ends so my hair can just keep growing and until it fades I will not need to touch up.

It's definitely quite the hair-frying process lol, but will do!

Thank so much Cornelia. I switched to a non stripping shampoo and the color as of today is still bright and vibrant! (gets washed every other day due to there being so much hair)

Here's my hair from last year, it's longer now but I want it this color again:

12881

Manic Panic turquoise and diluted Splat! pink (I also have to bleach first, I'm a brunette)

I love your teal/blue tips!

Currently, my hair isn't coloured, but I used to have multi-coloured hair. I'm considering getting it dyed again, but my whole head instead of just the front half (which is what I did before). I had a few different colours, starting with orange, pink and purple, then leaned more towards purple and let the orange fade, then purple and blue with just a few pink highlights. I used Special FX dye. A little more expensive than Manic Panic or Splat, but it lasts for ages (the pink lasted for about six months!). Also used L'Oreal Blue bleach (since my hair is so darn dark) and did it all myself. I think my mom was scared I would end up permanently dying the bathroom sink purple, but I managed to avoid that. I've heard great things about SFX; it's what my friend Halcyon used before he became the "box boy" of Splat pink :P It's definitely next on my "pinks to try" list, and it's nice to see just how long it holds!

Thank you :3 I plan on coloring again when I have the money to do upkeep haha... or just get some SFX, apparently.

Not my actual hair, but my Diva Dreads (https://www.facebook.com/DivaDreads), I had Brandie custom make me a set with the green and blue mixed in. 2 of the strands are only the green and blue, the other 2 are mixed to match my own hair. That way when I do have a job, they can't freak out over colored hair. I would LOVE to dip dye my hair like yours, I think it would be fun, but keeping it up would be hard at the moment as I can't even afford to get my hair done like that!

I've been thinking of getting colored clipin extentions, though I'm not sure whether to get the synthetic or the real hair. Synthetic is cheaper, but I don't know how it would work in the water.
