So when I was trying to figure out what monofin I was going to be placing in the fluke of my silicone tail (still in the works) I knew I wanted it to have a large blade. The Finis Competitor monofins have a redic. blade size. However, my feet are on the small end. I wear a size 5.5 in heels, 5 in flats, and a 6 with socks in sneakers. So finding a monofin that foot pockets will not blister my feet or slide right off was a challenge.

Waterway is perfect. The Model 2 have a blade that is 25" by 26" roughly and I was able to order a 5.5 foot pocket size. Shipping was fast and reasonable. I could not be happier.

I will indeed be taking this to the lake this weekend to test it out. I read many reviews on this product and look forward to seeing it in action.

This is how it looks coming out of the large cardboard packing box

Had to put it on right away. I purchased 3mm neoprene socks just in case. So far (due to it not being broken it) I do not need them!

You can get a better feel for the size with this picture. It is a nice size blade!!

It is very comfy and a nice supported snug fit. The heels are open which is great due to my high arches.

Looks great. If I may ask how much did the monofin cost you? an how much was the shipping?

Not a problem Anthony. I took a look at my bill it was $178 for the monofin. I bought a couple more items (neoprene socks, new snorkels, and masks) with all the items it came to roughly $59.00 to ship it all. Which is not too shabby.

:thinks: I wonder how much better that monofin is compared to a rapid? I might have to infest in one. After my move to TN first.

I will have to say the blade is roughly 25" by 26". The foot pockets are extremely comfortable. I recommend at least trying it out! It does not have any of the raised blade lines like the rapid and it does have the different stiffness option.

oh, i have one of these! i've yet to test it in the water, but i can tell you it looks great! really smooth, flat foot pockets and no ridges to speak of. and it's HUGE. it's basically the size of a finis competitor. i can't give very reliable recommendations right now as i haven't used it yet myself, but it's roughly the same price as a competitor, and it's virtually seamless [except for the bit of space between foot pockets but hey, that's pretty minor]. if you're really bothered by the ridges on finis products, i'd check this fin out!

I love mine. I swim in it all the time. it's big, comfy, fast, and a good price for those not trying to break the bank

I may have to keep this one in mind...

Although seeing that it doesn't have the adjustable (and replaceable) heel straps really bothers me. What if they broke? You'd have to get a whole new fin.
