Hi there all! I'm new here to MerNetwork, only been here for a few days now.
I'm just wondering if there's any merpeople in/from Connecticut? I have my own little pod made up of friends currently, none of us have tails but they're kind enough to help me make one out of fabric for all of us, and then I'll be purchasing one hopefully from Merbella's this December.
I've been looking through MerNetwork for people from Connecticut, but have come up empty handed. Just thought I'd ask! Hope you're all having a great summer so far! :)

Hi! Thank you! I got my monofin from Finis, actually my mom bought it for me for Christmas a few years ago, unfortunately I don't think Finis makes it any longer, at least in the purple color. Now it's a bright ugly yellow. >.<
Thanks! I might look for help here at some point, but two of my friends that are helping me make my first fabric tail are really good at sewing, so I don't think I'll need any help there. Thanks though! :)

I have three friends that I'm slowly convincing to start mermaiding with me. One of them is really excited about it. She's adorable. So I won't be alone pretty soon. :) I'm sorry that there's noone around you! Mermaiding is sometimes very lonely. :(

I hope it changes for you! Maybe you can try to get some friends to join you? See if any of them are at all interested and try to get them to join you while you swim! :) That's what I'm doing, since I seem to be the one and only mermaid in CT.

I know Waterbury fairly well. I mosttly grew up at my grandmothers (when she was alive) In South Britain an would travel to Waterbury all the time for shopping.

I have no idea!! It's so annoying haha. At least where I grew up, it was pretty rural and you couldn't really walk to anything, so they weren't a necessity. When I moved to NY I was so excited to have sidewalks.

It's easy enough for me to get to, although when I'm on the east coast I'm more in NY. The other NY mers might find it easy to get to Danbury too, since I believe there is a train there.

I haven't had any luck yet and I'm starting to go a little stir crazy with this unseasonable weather lol. I just wanna swim. Is anyone familiar with walnut beach, silver sands state park? Maybe we can do a summer meet up there. It's calm, shallow, sandy water and there's a long pier that I've always wanted to take pictures under.

Is it really 30 mins between us? I thought it was only like 15! Dang. But yeah, Danbury is good. I'd be willing to drive as far as Waterbury for a day thing. I think I might have mentioned it before but I'm going to plan a tail meet up at a CT beach some time this summer.

Hi everyone! I know this thread is a bit older, but figured this was the best place to ask this since it is a CT specific thread...

Where do you swim? I've had a hard time finding a public pool or beach that allows monofins or tails, so I've been swimming exclusively in private pools. This works fine for my fabric tails, but I'll be getting my first silicone tail next summer, and I worry that those private pools will be too small/shallow. Where are your favorite places?
