I've started officially saving for a tail, and I wanted to make a fun place to keep my savings!

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I made the octopus myself out of Sculpy and painted it with whatever it was my girlfriend had in her craft box. Not bad for a first real sculpting attempt.

What do you think? Does anyone else have a special place for their tail fund?

Ha ha, I love the $2 bill. is it a real historical one, or did you print it out? :)

Love the marine theme too!

Real historical...what do you mean by that? I use $2 bills to pay for things, still.

@AptaMer: Yes, that's a real, usable $2 bill. :p They're still in print/circulation. We get them every once in a while as tips.

Ha ha, I guess us people who just visit the US from time to time aren't familiar with them! I've never seen one in real life, although I knew they exist. I thought maybe they had stopped being issued and were rare.

Getting a $2 bill in change is like finding a dime in a parking lot instead of a penny. I'd be pleasantly surprised, but it isn't TOO uncommon. And I'd love to see your own ocean bank, AnnaAbyss! Well, here's mine. It's one of those cast iron motion banks.http://i1147.photobucket.com/albums/o554/Aziara86/photo-15.jpg (http://s1147.photobucket.com/user/Aziara86/media/photo-15.jpg.html) When you put a coin in the center dolphin's mouth and pull the lever, he pops up and flings the coin into the hole http://i1147.photobucket.com/albums/o554/Aziara86/photo-16.jpg (http://s1147.photobucket.com/user/Aziara86/media/photo-16.jpg.html)

Aziara, your piggy bank is amazing! It seriously looks like something you could have found while swimming around an old shipwreck :P

Thanks! I've actually had it since I was a kid. I think I got it for my 10th or 11th birthday. My mom figured since I like the ocean AND old fashioned things, so she got me something with both.

@AptaMer: I think the original/older $2 bills are rare! I haven't seen one of those in a very long time.

@Aziara: That's super cute! I had something similar once, but it was bunnies in a garden pushing a wheelbarrow. XD

Super cuutteeee!!

$2 bills aren't circulated but you can ask for them at the bank. They'll give them to you there. Also, if you have a Ted's Montana Grill nearby, they give you change in $2 bills. :) They're around!
