Just out of curiosity which category do you fall under. I personally find myself more of an introvert than an extrovert, but I do enjoy being outdoors and around people. However, I'm not the type of person to go to big social gatherings of people I don't know, and I have a few interests, as opposed to a wide variety of things. Mermaiding being one of them. However I am open to new things too.

The thing about being an introvert, is that you can still communicate and mingle with people, but you can also have fun by yourself and you enjoy having quiet time to yourself without the company of people... And that's ok.

I found a small test that can tell you if you are eather or. It takes only a few seconds to do. It told me that I am 20% Extrovert an 80% Introvert. I myself like sometimes to sit back an watch an keep to myself unless I know the person, but I do make friends easily. Here is the test I found.http://www.blogthings.com/areyouanextrovertorintrovertquiz/

Introverted, but I still need human interaction sometimes. And I appreciate a good party.

I am totally both. I enjoy being on my own sometimes, and I don't feel sad in doing so. On the other hand, I have many friends and I love hanging out with them as well :)

HUGE Introvert, I believe its because of my fear of being rejected by human society that I have few interaction with people, though if I know someone well and feel I can trust them I'll 'come out of my shell'. :p

I naturally tend to be introverted. However, if necessary, I can put on an act to present myself as an extrovert for short periods of time.

In one of my college classes we took the Myers Briggs Test. I can't remember exactly the whole results, but it did say I'm an extrovert, but I already knew that ^__^

I'm definitely both, tho I love being alone (at home with the family/hubby) and tend to avoid crowds alot

Interesting. I got 40% extroverted and 60% introverted.

As a lot of people here seem to be, I consider myself mostly an introvert but am probably seen by others sometimes as an extrovert b/c I can be very talkative and such around people if I'm comfortable with them. I don't mind being around large groups of people if it's for something fun that requires crowds (good concerts, theme parks, etc)...situations where you can still be doing your own thing in the midst of a crowd...but don't get much satisfaction from parties or interacting with people all the time. More gung-ho about spending the whole day just me and my hubby.

I am fairly introverted and act more introverted than I am. I want to do more socializing but when you live out in the middle of nowhere and don't have very many friends it is hard to do.

I'm an introvert mostly but I work in the education department at a zoo and while at work I can pull myself out of it and socialize but only whole at work. It took a long time to get there. In most social situations even when I know everyone I am still very introverted

I'm 100% introvert!

Here's what it says...

You avoid people at all costs
You aren't one for social interaction
And you limit your interaction to a select few
Thank God for self checkout!

Hm... This could explain why I fail at retail interviews!!!

I wouldn't give too much on psych tests.

I've done several (including that silly one with the 4 letters), and got a result that was completely off (like, about the exact opposite of reality).

I know some peeps believe in psychologic ideas like it was a divine revelation, but I've yet to read a theory of theirs that isn't complete nonsense.
(Just read a bit about Freud :p projecting your own personal problems on others is not science, man)

Turns out I'm an ambivert. It's basically a blend of introvert and extrovert. It makes things complicated. I can gt the positive and negative of introversion and extroversion, and have to find a balance. but hey at least it has a name! I can't find the article now, but there were tips on how to care for your needs if you're an ambivert. One of the suggestions is to go to public places, but keep to yourself- read a book, people watch, eat, ect. That way you get that feeling of being social but not overwhelmed by others. I actually do this quite often and always found it really helpful.

Anyhow, thought I'd mention that ambivert is a thing that exists. Maybe people here will find they can relate, and find some helpful ways to self care for their social needs :)

I'm an extrovert with social anxiety. Yeah. That's exactly as fun as it sounds.

I don't put much trust in psych tests either, but sometimes it's useful to do them even just to say "yeah, that's me!" or "no, that part isn't me" because I struggle somewhat with self-identity so it's helpful for me to see what I do/don't agree with.

I have a cat named Baby Bear who is extremely introverted. I sometimes wonder what she would be like if she was human. Probably too shy to even be my friend.

I'm an outgoing introvert. I like being around people, I prefer it to be a small group of people I know well, but I have no problems mingling at parties. I do feel wiped out from other people's energies after though. I tend to make shy people less shy and extroverts get along with me, but I recharge with quiet time.

that's a kick-ass comic!
Very enlightening. (Guess I'm an introvert after all.)

...and extroverts are basically psychic vampires?
Never thought of it that way, but it makes sense :p

To be honest I'm introverted when I first meet someone or am in a group for the first time. After getting used to it or starting to have trust in someone I start to become extroverted but not that much

I used to be a straight-up introvert. Now, I'm an extroverted introvert (very social, but like to recharge alone) who's a bit more reserved when meeting new people. I think that's fairly normal, though.

If you haven't taken the Myers-Briggs test, I highly recommend it. I'm an ISFP (Introverted, Sensing, Feeling Perceiver) and its description of my personality was about 99% accurate which is amazing!

I recommend googling your personality type once you've found it for better descriptions. I think I found the most extensive ones on Personality Page or something like that. :)
