Alright, so i made a tail a few months ago, but i thought it needed some jazzing up. So i put a bit of alex on the fluke and molded veins. I had already used a bit of this tube of caulking, so i thought it would turn out clear and squishy like it this the first time i used alex. It has been curing for gwo weeks now, and its white as a cloud with no squish to it at all. I really love this tail, and im panicking because it doesnt seem like it will come of easily. Does any body know why it wont cure? Or even better, HOW to get it off?
Thanks guys!

how old is the tube? I think that happens when the tube gets too old, and is exposed to air (opened) because my dad never keeps a tube of caulking that he's already opened for too long and i'm thinking that that's the reason why. If the tube isn't that old, what was the temperature it was kept in ? Do you have any pictures of it? I may be able to help if I can see how large of a space was covered with it and how the space looks.

an you said it still hasn't cured(so it's still pasty and soft)? or is it really hard? Also, were you planning on painting the alex? or were you going to leave it clear?

doesn't look like the clear alex plus, you probably bought the white alex plus. I had an alex plus tail and repaired it on many occasions, you need to specifically buy clear or transparent. The clear stuff shouldn't look anything like this. Even uncured. Uncured it gets milky, but not stark white like that. Either way, alex plus takes 2 full weeks in hot and dry conditions to cure, when I used it, it took 3 solid months in our weather, and still didnt fully cure.

The alex i got said clear on the bottle and i had another tube identicle to the one i used on this tail. The other times i used it , it turned clear in about 24 hours. :/

Good idea! I could try painting it, but originally, i was planning on it remaining clear. Painting is sounds like a good idea though!
