Awww, adorable! My family kept seahorses for three years about in a huge tank in our living room, they were a huge pain to feed. <3 I miss 'em! Ours looked very similar to yours.

AWWWW <3 I wish I could have seahorses! They are so CUTE! I have a six line wrasse, two chromis, and a coral beauty angelfish. Actually, my avatar is a picture of my coral beauty, Sunset. Although I don't have a tail yet, my sw tank is my own little merworld :) It's as close as I can get to the tropics. Oh, it must be nice living there. But I love the kelp forest where I live. Full of fish! :)

I don't know if they've actually been documented up here though. our local institute of oceanography has only ever found one sea-horse, and it was thought to have been swept in from a tropical storm. The newspaper went crazy but the poor thing died shortly after. When I looked up Nova Scotia links it all says "very rarely". And they all seem to very in terms of where exactly they're supposed to have been found. I asked a few local divers and they were like "really?" lol. Cute little guys though! I'd still like to see one! I love seeing them online and in aquariums!

Coradion are they very hard to care for? I hear they can be temperamental.

Seahorses are weird, they can be easy to deal with, but they're usually a nightmare for most hobbyists. The number one cause for most captive seahorse death is actually starvation. Seahorses can usually handle a pretty big range of salinity more so than many marine parasites can so they don't usually have bugs coming in. Vibrio and subcutaneous gas bubbles can be killers though. Once you know what's normal for a seahorse they're pretty easy, the only hard part is feeding. If you get some then please buy aquacultured if possible, a lot of wild caught seahorses won't eat dead foods with can be a pain -.- aquacultured seahorses are usually brought up on frozen foods which is awesome. I have to catch food for mine every few days which can be a real pain. Seahorses do a lot of weird stuff that's actually normal for them. Like laying with their face pointing down on the sand and looking dead. They're actually fine, they just like to make you crazy. If you want one, make sure you're set up for it, but I'd say go for it. You can't learn if you never try it out.

Yeah I've been on a local forum for fish owning in my area trying to learn everything I can about salt water tanks because I've never done salt water. I'm not sure I'm ready to take the plunge yet lol. What do you have to catch for them to eat?

I catch ghost shrimp. You can feed artemia nauplii which you can buy from a lot of stores.
