Hi, lovely fishes! I would like to make jewelry that involves preserved specimens. Where would I find hollow pendants and resin?

Example:

HM...I don't know about finding hollow pendants but the resin would probably be Amazing Clear Cast? Similar to taxidermy/realistic fursuit eye casting...google the fursuit eye casting methods for an idea.

Email Smooth-On, I'd say. Their customer service is fantabulous. :D

They also usually carry some blank pendants at craft stores like Jo-ann or Michael's... I've seen cameo bases, and I regularly buy small vials/bottles and I found some cool clear lockets there that I was also thinking of putting something beachy in.

No, I'm looking for something hollow that opens and closes :) I'll find it.

A clear locket, basically?

Yeah, so I can flood it with resin, put something dead in it, and let it dry :)

Gah, I have the perfect thing. I can't find it on google, maybe I'll take a picture so you can look for it at your local jo-ann's (or whatever). It's like one of those "living lockets", where things move around inside and you can keep mix/matching bits in there. I've been thinking it would look great with something floating in resin in it.
