The as-yet-unnamed Mer.

Help! So I am still trying to decide on my mer name, there were only a few criteria I wanted to follow, but it's still hard, I was wondering if anyone wanted to help me get closer to picking my name. (Please note that any names I use in examples are simply names I do not think suit me. It is not a reflection of my opinion of those names in general, or on other mers. Please do not take offence where none was meant.

Criteria 1: Cannot begin with 'M' some people like the alliteration of 'Mermaid Melody' and etc, but I don't personally on myself, so I'd rather stay away from 'M' names. (Which is annoying because some of my favourite names start with 'M'.

Criteria 2: It cannot be the same as a famous/well known mer, so Ariel, Aquamarine, Maddison, Melody, Raina, Raven, Eric, Iona, things where people look at it and go 'oh that's like ???'s name from this place'

Criteria 3: My tail (currently under development) is kind of spacey themed, it's different shades of dark blue with white flecks like stars and a white shimmer at the end of the fluke like the moon, so I was thinking something to do with that maybe? I did want a name that made sense for a mermaid but wasn't cliche like 'Pearl' or the likes.

Some ideas I was playing with:
-Serena (has been by far my fave but I'm worried people will go 'oh like Pirates of the Caribbean' and I have also noticed it is the same name of the Mer who helps make Flip-Tail magazine.) Would it still be okay or should I pick something else?
-Selena (was one I also really liked but that's one of the girl's from the 3 tails)

-Ashe
-Storm
-Skye

(Other options but I'm still not sure if I'm too keen on)
-Solana
-Lyra

i like eclipse, or perhaps selene? it's a moon name, similar to serena and selena, and it's not related to any merfolk that i know of.

If we are going with an space theme, I'm going to throw in Mermaid Venus, Mermaid Jupiter....blah, blah, blah..the other nine planets. ^-^

I think I am going to go with Selene, it's close to what I originally wanted and apparently there aren't any famous mers people can think of with it ^_^ Thanks for all your help guys.
