Camping trip gone BUST

A few months ago I had planned to go camping this month. Well we went camping. We left on Friday the 12th, but we had planned to stay till Friday the 19th but things went very wrong. All was fine till Sunday. There was a report that a canoe was stolen. They kept asking me questions about it because I was near the boat launching ramp, an I had told them I had seen 2 guys an 2 girls walk up the path with the canoe in question to a truck somewhere I did not see. As for some reason they did not believe me. They thought I had stolen the canoe.( It is sorta hard to steal a canoe when your camping in the wide open plus no place to put it out of site.) On Wednesday they had told me an my family to leave. they said that they were getting 3 different stories from people, an of course they believed them because we are not from that area. So they took thier side insted of believing us. As to say we will never camp there again an I plan on asking for a refund. The whole thing is a bunch of BS an we got blamed for it all because of hear say. I was not a happy camper an my GF's aunt is not going to be very happy when we tell her. She was the one who got us the camp site in the first place.

I'm sorry your trip was ruined. Where were you camping?

We were in lake minerva campsite which is run by the town. The town supervisor had the gall to shake our hands first then tell us to leave.

Yeah dude... in fact, you might even see if the police have anything on them. If this camp is so quick to blame campers with no evidence, they are acting rather suspiciously.

We all got a bum rap over BS. I am planning on asking for a refund an also I was thinking about going over thier head to county sence the town runs the camp site maybe thay can do something sence it is Essex county NY.

I agree with you these kind of things just ruined all your camping trip, i personally think you should go on trip with those people who are trusted and do these kind of things, you have so much things in your tent but people who steal them just ruined all your planning.
