So, I bought myself a decent underwater camera and tried it out for the first time!

Also tested out my shell bra and earings in the water.

I have to say: It was MUCH harder than expected!! And I can't keep my eyes open -_-"

I tried to take pictures with a timer (10 sec) and it was not so easy...

The good points: - Quality pictures is good!
- my shell brac survived <3 (my earrings are ok, but one got stuck in my hair and I had to cut it off :s )
- Makeup lasted long enough! I sealed my eyes, eyebrows and lips with the ssealer from sephora <3

Here are a few picture:

Looks like a good start! :D Was the pool really heavily chlorinated? I've never had too much of an issue opening my eyes for short times unless it's REALLY bad.

Not that much, but i think it's more of a trigger in my eyes or something. underwater I can only open my 'best' eye and the other one won't open :s Any tips for it how to train them? lol

All day today my photographer kept saying to me, "Open your eyes!" And I kept going, "They ARE open!" I have eyes that disappear (especially when I smile), and underwater I have to open them SUPER wide to get a decent picture. Think these-eyes-are-gonna-pop-out-of-my-head wide.

Underwater photography is hard! I'm working on my underwater face right now. I've improved from, "Gotta hold my breath or I'll drown" to "I'm slightly stressed out." At least it's a improvement! XD

Im not sure if this will help your problem of opening them but, to train my eye sight underwater. I use diving sticks and try to find them with my eyes underwater. Also to try to help you be motivated I try to time myself by seeing how many breaths it takes me to find all four. Cool pictures. Lol. And good luck! :) ;)

I also use diving sticks with my training. My mertender scatter 6 stick across the deep (3m50) half end of the pool and I (most of the time) dive them back up in 1 go :)

I found opening my eyes really easy. I just... opened them :$ is the water really salty or high in chlorine?

You know, for the longest time I couldn't get my eyes to open underwater. I finally opened my eyes on accident one day in a non-chlorinated pool, and since it didn't sting the block against opening my eyes was removed somewhat, and I was able to force them open again until I because comfortable opening them in that pool. Opening them in highly chlorinated water is still difficult, but possible now that I've opened my eyes underwater before.

Be patient with yourself, try low-chlorine water, and keep trying.

As for bubbles and such, I found this thread (http://mernetwork.com/index/showthread.php?297-The-Official-Underwater-Tricks-Thread!) very useful!

Golden Pearl & Thalassa : It's a normal chlorened pool. But I guess my eyes are really sensetive (I have bad eyes *-15* and as a kid I wasen't able to put in lences or eyedrops. And I still don't. Even for now I learned to apply mascara on my 19th i think without closing my eyes - I'm 24 now.

I'ts a really annoying thing I can't seem to get hold off. If i try my best, I can open my left eye a bit, but the other one automaticly closes.

@ Mermaid Dottie: Thank you! I do my best! :)

Those pictures look great Ariel. The picture quality is excellent on that camera. I used to have that problem too when I was younger and went underwater in pools, it just hurt sooo bad to open my eyes that I had to use goggles. Now that I am 23 that problem seems to have gone away. Sometimes it just takes time. Keep at it and try not to let it get you down :)

I open my eyes while soaking in the tub (I take a shower first so I'm not getting dirt/soap in my eyes) :)
