Merrow Erie

I plan on extending my future monofin, but I'm hesitant to make any permanent changes. I don't want to have to drop 90 bucks for a monofin every time I want a new tail, and I'm sure a lot of you feel the same.
That being said, has anyone attempted a fluke design that fits over the monofin? Something that can be strapped on and taken off? I'd rather have an extension I can remove than have to buy new mono fins.
I'm going to try to make a monofin extension bootie, and if the design works then hopefully I can save myself and other mers some money! The trick will be keeping the bootie construction under what a new fin would cost. The poor college kid in me is determined.
