I am not too sure if I have put this thread in the right location, so please forgive me if it is not and feel free to move it.

Recently I have started to have issues with my ears when swimming underwater. I am fine when swimming but afterwards I am getting a pressurized/clogged feeling in my ears that can last weeks before dying away. My doctor and ENT said it could be my eustachian tubes since they have checked out my ears, did test and everything else is fine. I went looking about on the internet and found something called Doc's Proplugs which are made for scuba divers. And a lot of people say they can help with ear pressure and equalization problems and are safe to wear underwater. I have no idea if they could help me since I am not scuba diving and only swimming underwater at my local pool. But I wondered if anyone out there had used them and what were your experiences with them?

I would hate to have to give up swimming underwater :(

When I had ear infections and had to work I used Zoggs Aqua-plugz which are kinda like Doc's proplugs, they work fine and do their job, though it was a bit sore for me (Ear infection and all) but only down side to anything like ear plugs is you can't hear as well. :D

Hopefully there's an answer to this, I have trouble equalizing and my ears are frequently blocked (tests, CT scans and meds tried :(. )

I use silicone puddy earplugs and always have. They're safe to about 15 ft before it'll hurt your ears, but for most pro mermaiding and swimming you don't have to worry about going deeper. I've never had a problem and see an ear specialist frequently because of my ear problems. I can still equalize to a point, and it keeps the water out. I also put drops in when I get out

to avoid infections and problems with your ears you should make a point of rinsing them with fresh water after every pool/open water session - if i ever get an infection ( very rarely) i use ear drops with antibiotics in them and usually the next day they are back to normal ! always remember to equalise early and often to prevent pressure problems .... also if you have a job and your sinuses are clogged you can take an actifed ( its a great decongestant ) and that will clear up all your sinuses !
