Guess I'll start things off... greetings, fellow southerners! I'm Calliope (same username on the old forums). I live in Augusta, GA, which is right on the Savannah River and therefore on the border of South Carolina and Georgia. Currently tailless; tail is in production, sort of. I'd love to have a meet with the other southern mers sometime!

I'm a nursing student and I currently work at Starbucks (mermaid working for the mermaid!). Umm... I guess if there's anything else you want to know, just ask? I'm 23 ^__^

Hi everyone!!!! Some of you know me from Mer Yuku as Arshes, but most of my friends call me Lindsy-Lu (or naturegirl...I do love the outdoors!) and I wanted use a name closer to my real name! I'm acutally a Northerner...a pacific northwest girl! I live in Oregon in the beautiful city of trees, Tualatin. Only an hour from the beach so I spend lots of summer days on the coast with friends! I guess I belong in the Southern Pod since I live in Florida. My name is Alexie, Star on here (as you can see). I too am currently without tail (though I have modeled in them) but am in the process of making my first one. I hope to show some progress soon.

I am in school and am a few classes away from my Gen AA. I work for Walt Disney World in Orlando in the entertainment dept. I love it and very much enjoy performing in general. I model and act when I can and am continuing to build my resume. Though I work in Orlando I live in St. Petersburg, about 10 mins from the beach. :D If you have any questions feel free to ask! Hiya everyone! I kept the same username I had on the old forum as well! My name is Veronica and I live in the Upstate of South Carolina, although I'm originally a Northerner from Michigan! I live in a tiny little place called Townville, about halfway between Greenville and Anderson.

I haven't got a tail yet either, but I've designed my first tail and I'm only stalled because I have to save up to buy the materials to make it! I'm very excited about it and having to wait is excruciating!

Hey, I'm Michelle but my screen name on many places including this one is Ivoryleopard. I had just joined Mer Yuku right before the switch to mernetwork. I just started mermaiding about a month ago, after years of drawing mers (I'm on Deviant Art)! I currently have two tails. Oh, Calliope! I’m sorry that it took me so long to reply to your post. I work at a campground and July is the height of the busy season! I haven’t had much of any time to get on the computer in the past few weeks! Lol!

I would love to have a meet up with you in Greenville sometime. I LOVE the Reedy River Falls! I can just imagine the fin-tastic pics we could get of two land locked mers basking on the rocks in the waterfalls! :3

I still don’t have my fins though… but I’m saving up to get my materials to make it! :D Even without my tail however, I mermaid around in the camp swimming pool every chance I get! I look forward to whenever we get a chance to meet! :)

Guess I should probably say, "hello", over here, too. I was known by the same name over on meryuku as I am here. I live in South FL, and work throughout the tri-county area (from Dade to West Palm Beach). My day job is as a children's entertainer (making balloon animals, painting faces, glitter tattoos, etc..) and as a belly dancer (which reeeeeeally did a lot for my mermaiding). I became weeki wachee certified this past April, and am currently working on a Neoprene tail to fit my new body (it changes a LOT after having a child) to be used for an event begining January 3rd. After that event, I will be painting scales on it (for now it will just have the general paint colors), and then I will begin my more involved sequin tail, which I expect to take me most of 2012 to complete. I will provide pictures as each tail is made. I have a 1 year old daughter named Melodia, a cat named Mr. Mittens, and four angelfish that get really excited when you wave to them. If anyone is in the Palm Beach/Broward area, you should find me on facebook and we should have a mertastic beach day :)

I've loved mermaids my whole life and im super excited that i found this community. I'm gonna start making my first fabric tail as soon as i can get past this wretched holiday season(planning on making a thread to document it as well). So glad to see so many local mers on here! We should def all have like a convention or picnic or something.

There are actually a good number of Miami-based mers. They aren't a part of this forum, and honestly, from things I've heard from a group of Broward mers, it's for the best. Just know you are not alone in your area :) I, myself, travel a lot throughout the tri county area, and will supposedly be having a regular weekly gig in South Beach sometime later this year *keeping my fins crossed* If you ever need help with anything, or are looking for tips, tricks, (or even work, once business picks up), don't hesitate to ask. Living as a performer is much more life-giving than being a retail slave :)

Hi everyone! I'm also a St. Petersburger, I'm pretty surprised that there's mers local to me, that usually never happens with the online forums I join. :) I'm working on what could be considered my second tail--I grew up with a seamstress for a mom and a pool in my backyard so my mom made me a mermaid costume when I was a youngin' obsessed with The Little Mermaid and the girls at Weeki Watchee. I'm into many types of dancing including Belly dance, Polynesian, Folk Dancing, and Irish step, and I'm always obsessively creating some type of dance costume. I became intrigued by mermaiding after a fellow dancer recommended working out with a monofin, and then I thought back to my childhood costume. Finding this creative and artistic community made me want to re-live my childhood memory, and start a new sewing project. :)
