Why so many "new"s? Because I'm new to the community as well as mermaiding and creating and in general I'm treating this as I do when swimming. Is it pool cold? I'm not sure, let me check *jumps in*.

What I do know is I loved this when I was young, when I was first taught the dolphin kick I went crazy with it. At the public pool on slow days I would swim along the bottom (got stepped on once), flips, twists, blowing bubbles I had a blast. I stopped when drama hit the fan.

I'm 23, graduated college with a creative and professional writing major, I'm right now dealing with some bumps but who doesn't have problems?

Sybil is the name I decided to use, I tried to come up with one searching online for ones with specific meanings, I paged through my baby name books (english major, it almost felt like a requirement), but when I came upon sybil it just seemed to ring. Otherwise, I'm called Lizz.

I love all things mermaid I can get my hands on, but for some reason it never dawned on me to make myself a tail. I day dreamed about it after watching Misty from pokemon do a mermaid show when I was little, but I never really thought I would be able to have a tail and actually do it.

What I want from mermaiding: To feel magical, and to one day be able to do mermaiding for my friend's little girl's birthday party.

Minus the getting hit by other swimmers, of course.

It's the one thing that keeps me away from water on warm days; frog-kickers are killing machines!
They use up the space of at least five mermaids with their motion, and can crack your skull with their heels if you're not careful :p

And Caltuna, it was simply a heavier set guy walking around, and I was a preteen, he stepped on my back both pinning me to the bottom and knocking the wind out of me.

Thanks, I've been looking at how to make tails and monofins, I think I got the technique I want to try (http://missfit1023.deviantart.com/art/my-tail-tutorial-209421264), but I think It'll be trying out patches first to see if I got the technique for applying the latex and paint. Meanwhile, got to practice with a monofin, while I love the dolphin kick I think it'll be quiet different and should get used to it first before binding my legs together in a tail.

Meanwhile I seem to be getting a few of my younger sisters interested so I may have some extra hands :)
