I'd say the artists who want to use a tail are putting merfolk in the public eye or on the map, and they use him because while other tail makers are busy making quality performance tails, Mertailor is the guy the producers hear of. I often wonder if Mertailor (and this is not snark, this is a genuine possibility) gives more attention to the gigs where his tails will be on film or in videos or the like, and that's why so many of his customers who aren't famous or putting the tails in the public eye find themselves with a disappointing tail. The tails of his that are seen on videos and such, we don't get a good look at, though, so maybe they have their share of the problems seen in reviews.

I am sure if other tail makers got any offers from celebs they would fit them in

There are so many other tail makers these days- and of those who make the really great tails, like Merbellas, FlipTails, and the like- I can't imagine them making a higher priority of tails for productions if they already had orders in for every day people.

But who knows.

I'm just not a fan of Mertailor. I've seen him bad mouth MerNetwork one too many times, and unliked his page for it ages ago. So that said, I'll not be commenting on anything of his in the future. Otherwise I don't know that I'd be coming across as anything but snarky.
