Hi from Sunny/Stormy England!!

Hello fellow mermaid lovers!! I am new here, and just wanted to introduce myself. I am Maxxie, I'm male, in my 20's living in England (which today has been really stormy and pouring with rain this morning and is now blazing hot sunshine, weird?!).

I have loved mermaids since probably around the age of 3 after seeing the film Splash and falling in love with Madison and then seeing Disney's The Little Mermaid and Ariel swam into my heart and since then I have been obsessed with them my whole life, collecting dolls, figures, books and films.

My top 3 favourite mermaids are Syrena, Ariel, Madison.

My favourite live action representation of mermaids on screen to date have been the mermaids in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, as they are truer to the older mermaid legends that I love and they are so beautifully imagined, the tails are just incredible. However I have always had and always will have a soft spot for Madison who started me on my mermaid obsession, her tail design is beautiful. I also love the mermaids in Hook even though their appearance is so brief, their tails have always been a favourite of mine.

My Favourite mermaid films are Disney's The Little Mermaid, Splash, Pirates 5 On Stranger Tides, Miranda, She-Creature and Fish Tale

My Favourite mermaid books are HC Anderson's The Little Mermaid, Monstrous Beauty - Elizabeth Fama, The Ingo Chronicles - Helen Dunmore, The Undrowned Chils & The Mourning Emporium - Michelle Lovric and The Mermaid Summer - Mollie Hunter.

So that's me, anything else please feel free to ask. I was wonder if there was a forum thread to showcase art and crafts, as I would love to share with you some of my mermaid creations.

I'm friggin addicted to her book! You will love it. I still think that Splash is the best mermaid movie to be made so far. :D

Hi there!! I haven't got a tail :( but I would love one, maybe one day. Do you plan on visiting England again? There is a beach in Cornwall called Kynance cove which is one of the worlds most beautiful beaches, it would be the perfect place to swim with a tail, there is even a mermaid legend connected to the beach.
