Ahoy all those with fins or feet. I Don't know if there is a thread for this already and I am new here, but I just wanted to share with you my own mermaid customized dolls and figures and some of my drawings.

I would love for a toy/doll company to produce some realistic, beautiful, possable and playable mermaid action figures and dolls one day, and I was really hoping to see them with the release of Pirates 5 and was holding out for a Syrena action figure but alas the figures never appeared. So I made my own.
This was the first one I made, to go with my 3.75" pirates figures. Made from a Ms Marvel figure and supersculpy.

I then made a Syrena to go with my 7" figure collection, made from a female action figure and supersculpey.

The most recent doll I made was Syrenka, the mermaid from Elizabeth Fama's novel Monstrous Beauty. The mermaids in that book are really cool, they have pupils like an octopus, long white hair, razor sharp wrist fins and dorsal fins and a very long tail covered in scutes like a sturgeon or crocodile with the fin of a porpoise.

Yeh I have heard of them and seen them, some are really beautiful, but in general I am not a fan of the highly visible joints on the tail, nor the more anime style of the faces of the ones I have seen. I would like a figure or doll that looks real, like the figures/dolls maybe by hot toys.

The brunette mermaid is beautiful!! But both are still too anime/cartoonish for my liking. I want a more realistic mermaid doll, like the dolls made by hot toys or the figures made by neca. Yes hot toys make the loki figure, my friend has him. I want the Cpt Jack and Angelica doll/figures.

This is Oralia my newest mermaid doll. Her name means golden. I made the tail myself out of pcv scaly fabric and craft foam n painted n several layers of quality metalic acrylics. It is removable so she can get legs. Was inspired by the H2O tails. I hope you guys like her as I am so proud of her!!

i'm thinking of making tails for my Chiclines. I have an old R&D doll that I wanna sculpt a tail for, but the Chiclines are too complicated for now so the'll get fabric tails. They're a bit taller than a Hot Toys but similar enough to use some of their accessories (and my girl can totally steal the male HT clothes)

I havent ever taken a commission before, but it is certainly something I would consider doing. I don't plan on making sculpted sculpey tails again though, well not for me anyway, as no pose-ability and too fragile.

However I have been using a snake skin textured PVC fabric, craft foam and high quality acrylics to make tails recently n I love the results. I have just finished making a custom Ariel and Eric Dolls in a non-animated style with my own spin on them. I used the fabric on Ariel's tail, Oralia's tail (the gold tailed one) and Syrenka's tail (the white haired one) and have a lot left.

Since my monofin got broken and I've been busy with my new job I haven't had much time to think or work on big mermaid projects. I started working on another doll.
