Hi All,

Just finished making this little octopus out of clay and microbeads and going to attach him to a ring base. These beads are not as easy to work with as one might think (I found that out the amusing way as they have a tendency to go everywhere if knocked over lol)

I'm thinking of making him a little clownfish friend as well ^_^. Hopefully the attachment works >_<

Thanks for looking

Aww, so cuddlesome!

And didn't harm a real animal since it's made from beads! :thumbs-up:

^_^ thank you.

Should put a disclaimer like they do in certain movies "no animals were harmed in the making and/or photography of this product" :P

Gorgeous! A little starfish or oyster would be cute too. You could make a whole set! xD
How long did it take you?

Mermaid Melaina: took about 3-4 hours. ..not including the times my bird wanted to play with whatever I'm working with xp. I'm currently making 2 starfish...ones bright red while the other is pearly and pink ^_^

Teal mermaid: I thought so too. But I think it turned out more shocked than trying to blow bubbles >_<

~SQUEE~ Too cute!

Ohmygoodness I love it! I like the combo of clay and microbeads, I can imagine they're hard to work with as my smaller seed beads go everywhere if knocked over as well :P What kind of clay is it? It's hard to tell through the beads haha! I've been working a few mer clay pendants, but yours is so much more adorable!

The clay is just the base to which the beads are pressed into, I was using a chopstick hehe. I use sculpey polymer clay (oven bake stuff), but i try to use the same colour as the beads I'm working with, or translucent as Mr Octopus has. >_<

Aha, i thought it was translucent, that's probably my favorite kind of polymer clay :) though it can be a pain to work with sometimes haha. You have so much more patience for micro beads than I!

Oh yes definitely, some types or colours are soft and others are hard when they haven't been handled, so its quite frustrating when it gets too soft and distorts the shape. I have high patience when procrastination is high >_<

EDIT: Just finished a Fish too, though its not as good as the octopus colour wise, but still I think it's cute ^_^ 13502
