Any mermaid novel suggestions?

Preferably not too Harry Potter/ Percy Jackson/ or that new book series with the katniss girl- kind of genre.
I like realistic fiction, romance, maybe a little magic in there but not all focused on it. I've read Swim to Me (great book about a weeki watchee mermaid in the 60s) and The Mermaid Summer (vicious mermaid threatens to drive away fish from a town). Basically anything similar to the mermaid shows/ movies aquamarine, splash, h2o, mako, you know, that'd be nice in book forms. Thanks!
Edit: suitable for an 18 year old, I should say to make it easier haha, I enjoy tougher reads, as I mostly read religious texts and Bukowski, VS Ramachandran, Haruki Murakami, a few of my favorites..

The Lost Voices trilogy by Sarah Porter.

I can't recommend these books enough, they're so beautiful and dark and they really bring the whole "mermaid" mythollogy to a whole new place :D

Ahh! I've also read the first two books so far of the Lost Voices trilogy, by Sarah Porter, and I ABSOLUTELY recommend them!! I love them and haven't seen anything yet about a 3rd book, but hoping it will come out soon because I'm so excited :D (waited about a year after reading book 1 for the release of the second, and I bought it the day it was on the shelves!)

I'm a teenager, so I might have a bit of different taste from someone older, but I also read and LOVED might I add, Forgive my Fins, by Tera Lynn Childs. It was an awesome book and I totally recommend it as well. There was a second book, Fins are Forever I read in even less time than the first one, and loved as well <3 This series also has even a third book too, which I have on my kindle, but after the first few chapters I stopped reading, it didn't quite hook as well as the first two in my personal opinion. But overall they're amazing books, and very cute as well as magical!!

I read and enjoyed Tempest Rising, by Tracy Deebs. It was a very interesting story. There is a second book to that as well, Tempest Unleashed, but I also wasn't quite hooked to that one either, and it still sits in my draw waiting to be finished :/

And, although it's about selkies, and not mermaids, I am reading Tides, by Betsy Cornwell, and though I'm not far yet, I LOVE it so far. I would totally give that a try as well.

The Ingo series by Helen Dunnmore. Its for young adult so its a simple read but her descriptions make you feel as if you are in the book swimming and experiencing everything along with the characters =]

I would second the recommendations above and add my own The Accidental Mermaid.

The heroine finds herself transformed into a mermaid by a magical mishap at a sci-fi/cosplay convention. She's not alone.
There's adventure, humor and romance, also enough Star Trek, Lord of the Rings and Star Wars references to warm the heart of any geek.

Also, in a few months, is ​Spindrift.
