My First Fabric Tails!!!

So, next week with lots of help from my mother I am going to make my first mermaid tail! :yay:She's going to help me make 2. A gold one and a blue one. I will post pictures during the whole process and document it :D Huzzah!! The adventure begins!!

I'm using the monofin I bought a few years ago. It's a Finis Tempo, I'm making it so that the monofin will easily be removed from one tail so that i can use it in the other one.

I bought it at Joann fabrics several years ago. It's a nice thick lycra/spandex material. It was on sale and i thought the design on it would look like scales in the water :)

You can't really see the fabric design since it's inside out but here is a pic of my mother fitting the material more tightly around me and my monofin :D I also spent 2 hours yesterday cutting the mesh striped fabric into strips for decorative purposes :)

Still a work in progress but the base of the tail is almost done then come the extra flowy fins :D

It's actually a finis tempo. I bought it years ago and I don't think they even make it anymore. It's purple and it was under $70 when I bought it. :)
