Hi, it's me. (obviously =P who else would I be?) Anyway, I just ordered my first Lolita dress ever! It says it should arrive in September, which is kinda sad, but what can you do?
I was just wondering if anyone else here is into the fashion? And if you are, what style do you like? I find Sweet (or amai) to be my favorite because it fits my personality most, but what does anymer else like?
Also, Does anyone think a Sailor Lolita top would look cute on a mer, ir is that just a silly thought?

I've been a sweet/hime lolita for 7 years now- but I've literally just sold all of my wardrobe to concentrate on mermaiding/pay for making my own silicone tail :3
Angelic Pretty was (is?) my favourite brand, my wardrobe was literally only AP XD haha!
I've wanted to do a cute 'mermaid-lolita' shoot for a while with my friends in pirate-loli! Because I'm a pastel girl, my Merbellas tail (and the one I am making) are very pastel coloured, so they fit lolita rather well :)

Wow that was fast :jawdrop: Haha. And yeah, Mizuko, your tail is very Hime! I'd love to see what you come up with if you do that! I haven't checked out Angelic Pretty yet, but I'm gonna go do that :P

Wait, you're from Massachusetts? You should get in touch with either the Boston lolita community or the western Mass comm depending on where you live! I just moved to another state back in January, but I was a member of the Boston comm for nearly 3 years and the girls/guys there are so sweet and entertaining. You should definitely attend a meet-up once your first dress arrives!
As for me, I'm a long-time lolita-wearer who is waiting for her first monofin to arrive in the mail, so I'm pretty much in the opposite of your situation. :P
I wear entirely sweet, mostly Angelic Pretty, lol. What is your first dress going to be?
I think a sailor blouse would look cute with a mermaid tail! It kind of reminds me of the Hipster Ariel cosplayer who wears an ironic T-shirt with her realistic silicone tail. I think it could look really cute and funny if styled well!
ME ME MEEE!!!~
Also, I would *love* to see a Lolita mermaids shoot :3
While I still don't have any "real Lolita" yet - I'm one of those "starving artists" LOL - I've been into the fashion for years, seen it go through so many changes and transitions and new styles and combinations... I'm a fan of Sweet, Classic/Old-school (that makes me feel old -_-; ), Gothic, a little Hime and a touch of Punk a la Miwako (from Paradise Kiss). I've been collecting "off-brand" pieces for years, and last year while promoting the awesome Steamfitter's Ball in Denver, I finally dressed in what I considered a whole, "real" Lolita outfit, made entirely from offbrand. I felt sooo happy!
I've been working on hand-sewing(!) an awesome JSK based on this Innocent World JSK (http://hellolace.net/wardrobe/innocent-world/type/jsk/item/2/), in a white/pink thin stripe fabric with little roses all over... I've been calling it my Rose Parlour JSK. It's been in the works for years, but that's because I was hand-sewing all the ruffles and rim on. Heck, I hand-hemmed and gathered the ruffles too, because at the time I didn't have a sewing machine. Recently my Dad gave me this neat, cute little sewing machine that actually is a good machine and does a lot of stitches, I just need to get over my fear of setting it up -_-;
I've also been working on a Fairy-Loli Salopette a la Angelic Pretty, made from some vintage The Little Mermaid sheets I found at a thrift shop :) I've also made a kitty-shaped Odekake Chocola-chan muffler from the Angelic Pretty knitting pattern <3 So I count that as my one "real" Lolita piece now haha...

Wow, that hand-sewing work sounds brutal! You should definitely set up that sewing machine. If it has interchangeable feet (I think most machines do but I'm not sure what your dad got you) you can pick up something called a ruffle foot, which automatically makes gathered ruffles and pleats for you! I've only constructed one JSK from scratch (before vowing to never attempt it again, lol) but the rolled hem foot and the ruffle foot helped me make quick work of it. :)

IMO, ero can actually be done quite nicely. Guro is great for Halloween but I can't imagine wearing it any other time. :P

I'm not a Lolita (don't have the funds or the sewing skills for it!) but if I were, I'd probably go for classic with a sailor/military/steampunk theme. Honestly a big reason I haven't delved into it before is that I can barely be bothered to put make-up and pretty clothes on for special occasions, never mind for casual wear xD but still, I love the way it looks! You guys should post some photos here if you have any :)

I mostly make a lot of my dresses (I actually just finished a sailor OP ) and I remember when. I made one by hand took me a week just to gather all of the ruffles! (It's actually that red one I think I posted on here somewhere) Im designing my own print now (halloween) because I wanted a halloween dress but didnt like the fabric that most fabric stores have.

Makeup is a total bummer. I only put it on for special occasions like meet-ups. Most of the time I wear lolita with no makeup, but don't tell anyone. xD
Here's a photo of me from when I miraculously was wearing makeup, lol. (From a lolita convention, obv. Can't let the others know how lazy I truly am.)

But, if I ever do loli cosplay, you can bet it'll be water-themed.

Wow so many lolita's worldwide xD. I am also into the fashion I have been a lolita for 5 years, but I just started wearing the more famous brands last year. I'm a Huge Gothic lolita fan! XP But i sotra think of myself as a cross between the usual gothic style and lolita since i wear so much demonia, heavyred, and necessary evil

I just saw the Buy Mo' Brand video yesterday :D Gosh I love Lolita Rap so much...
I should have a few pics around of me dressed (somewhat) Loli. I promoted a Steampunk Ball last year (well, really, i wanted to see my favorite band who had never been to my state, so I pestered a bunch of people until it happened, and it was somehow all because of me LOL), and my "identifier" every time I went out to clubs promoting was I dressed like some version of Lolita/Goth/Steampunk/Doll :P And since I never have other chances to wear the poof, I took a pic almost every night I went out :)
Actually, that was the summer of me acquiring more petticoats, so every week my skirt got bigger and bigger until I had a very comfortable personal bubble at the actual Ball - I was wearing something like 4 petticoats + bloomers, and a fairly thin skirt, so it was all MEGA AP POOF... and I am a rather small person with curves :P I ended up being the "costume contest fairy" at the event (OMG first time on stage since HS, and it was all totally, "Hey, [realname], uh... here ya go, you're going on stage! *shove*")... I finally saw pics of me next to the contestants, and yeah, I look like a fairy, minus the wings :P SO MUCH POOF.

Two classical Baby The Stars Shine Bright, two sweet Metamorphose Temps de Fille and one floral Angelic Pretty name brand JSKs in my closet. Mostly they are worn during conventions or lolita events. I`m an older lolita. I feel younger and good looking when wearing them! It`s a cool fashion to try out!

Dunno if you guys are in the market for new dresses but this new Krad Lanrete print is covered with beautiful jellyfish! It struck me as looking really mermaid-y so I thought it might be appropriate to share here. I might get it as a sort of "land transformation" outfit, lol. :3

I've known about it for awhile. It's absolutely gorgeous but he's releasing it just when I'm getting ready for a convention, so it will be a no-go for me. ;.; In other news, my Lady Sloth Dark Symphony skirt is waiting for me at the post office. I am being far too impatient trying to get my grandmother to take me to get it.
EDIT: Apparently they will be taking a second round of orders on the Jellyfish dress in the spring! Huzzah! I"ll have my tax returns then.

While I'm not a Lolita (I don't anything), I've definitely wanted to try out the fashion. It's so cute and pretty! I'm trying to relearn to sew so I can make some of my own clothes, I might dabble here or there into some Classic Lolita.

Me too. I mainly wear dresses simply because it's just a cheaper outfit. That and all the pants that I DO own have holes in them and I don't really like that style anymore. (From years ago)

I adore lolita, my favourite is sweet and classical. But will probably wear gothic too. I've not got any lolita clothing as of yet, but hope to start getting some next year. Love sailor too, as well as shiro. In fact I would like to try for most of the styles.
I've been looking at some of the cheaper companies and vintage dresses to wear for lolita.
