So many tail designs!

So, as some of you have noticed.... I tend to come up with a lot of tail designs. Hee hee.

I am slightly paranoid that if I post them on the internet someone is going to "steal" my idea. I have no problem if someone likes it and ASKS me if they can use that design or base a tail off of it... But ask first...

I love sharing my designs and getting people's ideas, critiques, opinions and thoughts on them, and I know that 99.9% (no one is perfect) of you are good mers and won't steal another mers ideas... Though I'm still scared.

So should I just start a thread that I can post my new designs in?

i think that you should put copy right on the pics before you pist then that way no one can still the

Watermark the images with the date. And, honestly, if someone 'steals' your design, wouldn't you be flattered rather than upset? Or are you planning on earning money from the designs some day?

@Yemar: This is true, and as I said I don't mind if they use them, just asking first would be nice. Rather than "I like that I'm just gonna use it"

@Moonflower: I hope that one day I can either sell the design to a tail maker, or learn how to make realistic tails myself and use those designs. -shrugs- I just really like to get people's opinions. Also, I offer commissions for tail designs (nicer than the ones I sketch up from time to time), so I don't want people to just sit and wait for me to post other designs so they can snag a freebie. :-/

@Spindrift: I think so. Plus, I can't put a copyright if they aren't actually copyrighted, that'd be lying. If I post them on dA, I think they're automatically copyrighted on some level. -shrugs- Not 100% sure on that, I should check.

i am currently waiting for mike to replay to my email i am sure he saw it and i is a very busy man and all but i am not yet shure on what colors to get and wat i realy want on my tail so if you had any ideas it would be great :)

@Kailani: I'm not sure about tail designs, but writings are considered copyrighted from the moment of their creation. You don't need to do anything special, just put your name on it and date it.

@melbel: Problem is, some of these are just ideas and probably won't come to fruition for a looooooong time. And I'd like to get an idea of what people think, or if they do want to use them and it was just an idea I had, they can benefit from it.
