Mermaid Kala's Mershirts!

Mermaid Kala and I work in graphic design together and one day, we were chatting about funny things merfolk could say to one another. Then it dawned on us - they would make fintastic shirts! Mermaid Kala then took these images/sayings, created a vector version of it and made them available on SpreadShirt! We were thinking these would be great for times when you want to feel like the mermaid you are when you're out of your tail, in-between gigs or just want to show a little mer-humor around the house. ;)

Many more designs, styles and colors will be on the way! Kala or I will be updating this post when more items become available.

Speaking of custom orders, would you guys be up to designing a shirt using "DesignMer" as a kinda typographical pun in a similar style to the dive team design? I think it would be fitting for the tail makers here, accessories-making folks along with any other graphic designers who just so happen to be (and/or are a fan of) all things mermaidy.

I spoke to Kala and we definitely can do custom shirts for merfolk and their teams, including ones using your own personal logos or "jersey style" shirts with things like MERWRANGLER [NAME] on the back/front. We'll begin working on some new designs shortly!

I like that! Clever and befitting for tail makers. That would be especially cute as an embroidered patch. I feel like something else could be done with the Designmer type though — keep the "ner" part scratched out..."mer" a tad more prominent as a hand-written font and a different arrangement with the "design" part? Everything else in the design fits together; the title seems token.

I'm still painting the cover for my lookbook otherwise I'd help with this! Baaah! Lemme sketch something one sec...

More ideas came to mind based on your proof. Fonts used are Dubiel (for Desig-ner) and Brubeck AH for the Mer. Little stars are starfish (I'm sure you can get this as a free vector somewhere, save the work time) and scallop shells that are turned in such a way that forms the border you got there. Mer could be sitting on a rock, holding that cut out scroll.

What do you think of this as a second option?
