I love that sparkly gold fabric! Of course, I like anything that's shiny. Is it super thin? I can't tell from the picture...

It isn't super thin it is 4way stretch spandex and is pretty solid you can't see through it or anything.

I got my monofin and now I have created my pattern for my modification, I will be using the duct tape and zip tie method. This is me in my monofin with the pattern taped on top. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/10/01/dutehy5a.jpghere is a better view of the pattern.

Your pattern looks awesome! Keep us updated :) just a little warning the mesh will create more drag if you choose to put it on your tail, but its up to you!!

Looks like a great fluke! I still can't decide if I wanna cut my rapid or use the zip tie/duct tape method.

I am adding to mine because it doesn't seem to fit me proportionately. I am pretty tall I would say try it on and think about wether it should be smaller or larger to match your size.

Is that a foil monofin? It looks like your feet are farther apart from each other than the wave and rapid.

Last night my friend Camryn and I went to the pool and I got to try my monofin for the first time!!! It was really fun, but it was also kind of awkward because we were the only people in the entire pool!

Life went crazy and I haven't been able to get back to making my tail until now! I have attached the zip ties using E6000 and carefully layered them with duct tape. I sealed every edge of tape with E6000 as well, just to be sure. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160622/59b3218a0b86fe7e4fa7f1bae39bab39.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160622/25ae8b0f525e3e3748a71e671a1e2c37.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160622/93918566aa21aa772fc195b899d9189a.jpg

I'm kicking into gear! My grandma and I worked all day today sewing the tail. I left the end open and attached the fabric to the monofin with Velcro strips. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160628/9bd5976cb0b308f48701616b979a91b6.jpg here's how it looks so far. I was planning on painting the fluke but I think I'm gonna take it for a few swims and see how I like it first. If I do paint the fluke here is a sampling of the colors http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160628/95ca2d7d74375f168f2df4a51c5b3949.jpg what colors do you guys like with the silver body and hot pink fins?

I like the pinkish red, the blue and the silver, but it's your tail, do whatever makes YOU happy!

The blue and silver, or the pink and the orange, I think those colors would look good on that tail. I love how shiny it is!

Well I took it for a swim. It worked amazingly but I need to get tighter elastic in the waistband, and find a better way to close the end of the fluke as the Velcro ended up not working so well. But here are my pics from the first swim!! http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160706/ae019dd1718cc6a3fa6c9a10f192bc86.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160706/de268e6b989ca9159b9bcda1c941bb68.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160706/1f281f9396fa977233d5bd30346a0be0.jpg

Is the velcro not sticking to the monofin, or is it not sticking to each other? Because I've found that you need a fairly heavy-duty velcro, so if the velcro isn't sticking well to each other, try upgrading your velcro. (I grabbed some from Army-Navy Surplus for cheap, but I'm sure sewing/crafting stores would have some heavy duty options as well.)

The Velcro is sticking very well to each mother but it's coming off the monofin. They stick to each other so well I'm worried about pulling them off when I'm trying to pull them apart!

Ah, nevermind then. Sounds like you've got some good velcro. What did you use to attach it to the monofin?
