Inspiring set of images! The outlined scales remind me of the fabric with scales in the Halloween section at Joannes.

I liked the small fish as wall decor. I'd probably try to bunch them together with larger gaps in between if I were to try it on my walls.

my favourite ones of theirs are actually not sea themed - they have gorgeous damask pattern stencils which are so detailed and gorgeous <3 cheaper than wallpaper and will last a lifetime if I look after the stencil! =)

Craft tip for apartment dwellers: if you stencil the designs into fabric, you can apply the fabric like wallpaper using fabric starch. When you move, or change decor, the fabric peels right off, and you just clean up the walls with water and a sponge!

Yeah the scales are upside down. But the scales are always displayed up. Dunno why but if you google the images "Japanese origami paper fishscales" there's are a few images of men's ties that have te scales going up instead of down.

Because if the scales go up, it's showing more positive then when going down. Besides that, the scales can also be seen as clouds or mountains this way. Same reason as why most clocks are photographed with the fingers on 11 and 2, cause it shows a 'happy' face.
