I'm so excited because it's now autumn time here which means pumpkin flavored novelty foods! Also, HALLOWEEN!!!!!! YAY!!!!!

I live in southern California, so it doesn't really get cold here, which means I actually don't change my habits or schedule all that much. It's something I'm very thankful for.

Although there are days where it gets too stormy to go to the beach, but there's always the pools; and if it's too uncomfortable to swim in a pool Disneyland is pretty fun distraction in the rain.... Hell, Disneyland is fun to go to any time during the "cold", too stormy to swim or not (lol, I'm laughing because I think 19 degrees is cold) because it's either decked out for Halloween or Christmas.... Yeah, I forget all about not being able to swim when I'm there until I see the submarine rides ;)

Yeah our seasons don't alter much either (Queensland Australia) but the water in L.A was FREEZING when I went there in early autumn! You guys are nuts. In summer here it's like bathwater most the time!

Surfing, swimming in the Caspian, and the Persian Gulf all pretty much have rendered me blasé to the water here. However, further up the coast and I whine like a baby. Sorry, but if the elephant seals are comfortable, I'm definitely not! LMAO.

Although still in Australia, down here in SA it gets rather chilly during winter and rains A LOT. So its never good to visit the beaches XD But with Spring now, its getting warmer! Yay! :D The water is always cold, though, because the currents come straight off of Antarctica, but it doesn't take much to get used to. And with our summers reaching 40+ Degrees Celcius, its a welcoming cold! haha!

Oh no Mizuko! Our water gets cold here in winter-but that's cold for me, which seems to be the hottest L.A summer day, ha ha. Can't wait to dust off the surfboard!

Lol just make sure Lila doesn't try to steal it. It is "her surf board" after all. Until she knocks it over and breaks it, then it's "Your" surf board. Lol! Yeah, you lovelies in Australia have no Idea what COLD is lol. Try coming to NJ when it's Waaaaaaaay below freezing, breathing the air makes your lungs hurt, and just walking out the door makes you feel like ur eyeballs are frozen. I hate it and can't wait to move to Texas in January :) To answer your original question for the thread, I go swimming at an indoor pool

My son-in-law is from Queensland, so far daughter and he have avoided Kentucky winters by visiting relatives. Follow the sun.

I used to like the cold season (was passionate about ice-skating), but since cold makes my pain and stuff worse, no longer :/
Temperature-wise, seasons don't change the water here much: it's either cold, cold as hell, or frozen :p

So, pools it is :(
I'm sooo jealous of you guys in warm climates!
grrrr....

I'm so excited to feel autumn coming. Mornings and nights are starting to feel crisp and cooler. I'm in San Diego, right at the sea, so I feel it on days where much of San Diego still hasn't. We'll be having more foggy days where it's cool instead of muggy and warm and yuck.

I can't wait til we get a few good windy nights. I love the sound of the sea anyway, but when the wind really kicks up and howls through the solar panels on top of my building, it's so awesome. <3

OMG it was SO FOGGY yesterday and the day before in the morning in LA. Like, I was in Little India (relatively inland) and there was a THICK blanket of fog.

I bitch and moan and hate the cold...and wait until I can get back into the lake! I recently found a gym with a pool, 24/7 access, and the woman who wants to sign me up said I could swim with fins, tails, anything I want, and can't wait to see me in a tail!

So YAY for that! BUT I F***ING HATE THE COLD.

Look how I just spent the weekend :) The water was pretty chilly still but oh so lovely! This is one of the islands that's a setting for my book-17 kilometres off the coast of where I live. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.418712824907246.1073741845.280475535397643&type=1

It's just finally gone below 98-100 degrees farenheit here in Dallas/Fort Worth this week and it feels LOVELY outside, but it means that this weekend I am going to have to start scuba diving in a wet suit, 'cause the lake water has dropped to about 80 degrees and after five hours in the water and hitting the thermocline every now and then, I start shivering. Pool swimming will be okay until probably Octoberish, then I'll be dishing over the money to swim at my 24 Hour Fitness--the only place nearby that allows fins. But hey, they have a whirlpool and a sauna, so maybe it's worth the cash! I do wish I lived in a tropical area, but there's no way I could afford it! Not that North Central Texas has much of a winter, I sure as heck don't own separate winter clothes--a couple of sweatshirts does it here--but it definitely gets way too cold to swim outside even in a wetsuit unless you like that kind of torture!
