Sirenalia now (sort of) open for business!

Well, our Facebook page is, anyway! We're only just now starting to work on our website, and we just signed a lease on our new studio.

While we're not (quite) ready to start selling tails, we are going to give one away for free, and then another at cost. We don't consider ourselves "tailmakers" yet- we're just making tails because it's awesome. After that we will start charging a little more (and then a little more) for labor.

It's taken us a while to learn what we know about tailmaking, and we will always be encouraging you all to make your own tails- we'll share technique with you all if you share with us!- but we're finally in a place where we feel like we can start turning our hobby into a small business. Both my boyfriend and I own businesses, so we're really excited to own one together!

I'm way excited. I can't wait to start on my next tail.. It'll be a free give away. It's super cheesy, but I'm so excited to do it. I remember all the times I wished I could somehow magically have a tail and now I get to make that happen for someone.

I agree with Jade. I couldn't afford to buy a tail and I'm very thankful to all of the people who posted their tail making threads and shared their knowledge. I would never have decided to make my own silicone tail if it wasn't for all the information available on here.

So, I've practically been holding a gun to my friends' heads (metaphorically of course, but still just as effective) demanding they repost and like your page or face the wrath of my awesome power, and they're such amazing people they have (reposted not faced my wrath...yet). Also I am considering selling the pink tail.
It was the first swimmable tail we ever made and I LOVE it!!!

We decided who got the free tail!!!! Yay!! I think she really deserves it. She picked a totally challenging paint job, which is rad!
We are going to start production monday or tuesday.

Now for this at cost tail we were talking about...
I am kinda considering a raffle.

I like the idea because it could give someone who couldn't afford a tail an opportunity.
I'm also a bit hesitant.

Kanti did a raffle a few months back and never got enough people to do it, no updates have been made on it and she got close to 50% of tickets needed sold anyway. I don't recommend doing a raffle if you intend to have a goal for it, but if you don't want a goal then it sounds great.

So much excited news for Sirenalia!

We just got back from Belize, where we got some wonderful underwater shoots and footage, you can see a few on our Facebook page, but the real gems are yet to be edited.

We got hired as the in house mermaids here at the Austin aquarium!

We have three tails in production right now!

We are still offering tails at $900!! I don't know how many more I can make at this price, so get on the list now if you want a Sirenalia tail back when they where cheap! ;)

I believe they are still offering tails at cost of $900, Mermaid Caspiana. Or so I thought I saw her state two days ago. They probably can't afford to do another giveaway at this point if they ever plan to come out of the red as a business, but $900 is an AMAZING price. That's basically what it costs to make it, with no labor fees.
