Just a reminder for anyone interested that the Season 3 Premiere of Once Upon a Time (which will be including Ariel)
broadcasts this Sunday, Sept. 29, at 8 pm on ABC in the USA & CTV in Canada.

in the preview the showed on ttv it show a mer maid swimming under water with a tail you can tell cause the monofin line not cgi

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Ariel was not in this episode!

The tails were CGI, but they were slightly better than the one for the Ariel teaser.

Not as good as the CGI tails in At World's End.

The CGI was on par with "Mermaids: The Body Found" and "Mermaids: The New Evidence"..... Even when they had the chance to use a real tail, they went with a bad, choppy, etc. CGI tail. It was painful to watch.

Did any of you watch the most recent Once Upon a Time?

We got to see a full body shot of a mermaid and a few swimming through the water... all CGI tails, and too small for my liking. But it's cheaper than silicone tails for all the actors playing mers, that's for sure.

It would be nice if they went for the composite look. Make a practical mermaid costume from say the hips to right above the knees and then give her green leggings from the knees down to allow for a seamless cgi tail. Might require a little finesse in both costuming and cgi, but it can be done and done well.

That would be nice. The Ariel tail we've seen looks more like a larger fluke. But they did do the rest of the mermaid's costume- the one from this recent ep- really well, she reminded me of our mers here. <3

2 more episodes until Ariel!

I really wanted to see how they do Ursula. After thinking about it, I realized that it wouldn't be Ursula. It would have been Rumple who made the deal with Ariel for legs.

Rumple = The Beast (Made the deal with Belle to free her father.)
Rumple = The crocodile (Took Hook's hand.)

Rumple seems to be the link between all the "stories".

Personally I am still hoping to see Ursula in the flashbacks.

As far as I know, the mermaid tails are fabric with a monofin and edited with CG.

I can't wait i love this show so much I can't wait to see her tail. I read the actress inter view yesterday it looks like this might be a great episode.

When will the next Ariel episode be? The show itself is a little too melodramatic for me, but I'm stuck to the screen whenever Joanna is there.

To answer my own question: tonight and next week. So if you're on the west side of the great plains you still have time to catch it. If not I'm sure it will be online tomorrow.

yay i'm up to date now!!! i just finished two seasons in 2 weekends and then last sunday i watched everything up until episode 11 (i missed that one...it was this sunday's)
