Hi all! So in my AP English class we have to analyze a poem, including symbolism. One of the options is "The Mermaid" by William Butler Yeats.
A mermaid found a swimming lad,
Picked him for her own,
Pressed her body to his body,
Laughed; and plunging down
Forgot in cruel happiness
That even lovers drown.
I was just wondering if anyone had anything they noticed or anything that stood out to them. Thanks!
