I am doing my first gig in like to weeks and need to come up with a name. I performing as a native American mermaid. So here are some native American names I have found and like, all I need now is help choosing!

So which name do you think sounds the most Mermaidy?

ORENDA: Means: "magic power."
MALILA: Means: "fast salmon swimming up a rippling stream;salmon going fast up a rippling stream"
NIRVELLI: Means:"Water child"
SOOLEAWA: Means: "silver."
TALISA: Means: "Beautiful Water"
I don't think this is in the right place. I looked but no where seemed right.

Niravelli

well you are a mermaid which is considered a child of water. I say which ever really sticks out for you.

I like Sooleawa, but that may be in part because my name is Sue... Nirvelli would be my next favorite. :)

There are a number of native american water/fish/lake/river/waterfall spirits out there, so there's certainly a lot to choose from (your actual tribe might lean one way or another, though). That said, I think I like all the names you listed EXCEPT Orenda... it is a bit more commonly used, and not just in Native American culture, either.

Almost everyone has said I should go with Talisa, I will probably go with that.
