Any Safe Havens fans out there remember the first appearance of Remora the Mermaid? Bill Holbrook announced that it is going to be Safe Havens' anniversary soon, and reflected on a number of the major events.
Remora is noteworthy in that, though she must always be half human and half fish, she can spend half of each day as a human and half as a fish instead of being a mermaid, and she went to school with the other characters this way, spending the evenings and nights as the class pet. She later fell in love with a boy who is always hanging from a trapeze, and they have a baby son now (whom the father, like a seahorse, carried). Furthermore, Remora's merfolk can turn humans into merfolk if the humans save a mermaid or merman three times.
