acid doll mermaid/merman tail

Was considering getting a tail from this etsy shop. They look good and it will not totally break the bank. Its would also be a good way for me to get my feet... ehhh fins wet and see what its like. I have been communicating with the shops owner. I was going to have my tail be a olive green and a "hip fin" like the merfolk in the little mermaid have. Any thoughts? Would this be good first tail?

The listing does say 'a monofin to swim with.' The shipping is fairly inexpensive, too, considering it's coming from France. It must not weigh much. I know it says silicone, but I wish they had photos of the scales close up... and if I were looking at just the Etsy photos, with no description, I'd think it was cut from a sheet of some kind of vinyl material with silicone flukes. Perhaps it's very thin silicone.

I think it's awfully vague and seems sort of risky, generally you get what you pay for (it may not be Dragonskin).

Yeah, it seems weird that someone would come out with a silicone tail that no one on here has heard of before, and I agree that it looks like fabric, not silicone, scales. The listing is VERY vague (though perhaps it's because they're French and don't do English well?), and that puts up a red flag in my head. You should message them and see, because I always love to see new tail makers!

They may have just painted the neoprene really well, then coated it in a thin layer of silicone, no molding of scales or anything like that.

reply i got: For the measurements we will send you a diagram with measurements to be taken. It is on measurements of the hips, thighs, knees, ankles and different levels of leg lengths.

For shipping we offer two different prices. One by collisomo (name in France) is more expensive but the package is tracked and insured. the cost amounts to 85 euros more. The following method is longer transportation but is less expensive and there is no tracking number. this one listening 35 euros for the United States.
We use a neoprene thick quality. This neoprene is tinted and scales (if you want a scale effect we can do gradients or patterns) are painted before the application of several layers of silicone. The method is used for carved scales tails sirens latex whose cost is higher.
Our supplier monofin provided us with two types of monofin (one for women to 38 and a mass that goes to 45 French in size).

problem will be that i wear a 14 mens! @_@ any thoughts?

I think this is a mistake ! I would not order from them . There's no reputation there and they can't furnish a single review. I see this being a big waste of money and let down expectations.
