Hey guys, I found a cool trident at a halloween store (technically a party store that has a major costume and prop section every halloween) in the area, and I was wondering if anyone else had stumbled across any similar finds, or anyone had any suggestions about decorating my new trident (I spotted it last year, but promised myself I'd get it when it was on sale after the holiday... only to find it was gone then. So when I spotted it this year, and for only $4.99, I snatched it up). I'm not sure how I feel about the black shaft, and I think that while the coiled, scaly/indented tines are cool, they could be cooler. I'm thinking some mix of features like coral, narwhal tusks, sea stars, octopi, limpets, etc. Maybe weighing the shaft somehow... is it better to have the end open or seal/cover it in some fashion, when swimming? I also have to figure out if the thing is painted and if the paint is waterproof, though a cursory examination suggests that it is made of black and gold plastic. What do you guys think?

I was working at party america for a while while they were getting ready for halloween. We had tons of accessories, but we didn't have any mermaid or underwater themed ones. Just small plastic devil tridents. Cool find!

Looks great.
Even if it's painted and the paint comes off, it should look even better,
like something that's been underwater for a long time (duh!).

I found that exact trident at a party city and painted it gold for a sea-themed halloween costume. It's a little flimsy for my taste, but I love the design.
