An Animated Mermaid Mini-Series

Hi there. I'm Matt, I'm pretty new to the forum, but I wanted to come here and show you guys a new mermaid web-show I've made. I've seen a lot of them on YouTube, and I kind of wanted to get in on the action, especially now that mermaids are kind of up and coming in general popularity. Mine's kind of different from the other ones though, cuz mine's animated. I've been an animator for six years now, all just in my spare time, and a year ago I decided I wanted to do a show about a girl who discovers she's a mermaid. I know that's a popular theme, but I hope I've taken it in a different direction and made something fun for everyone to enjoy!

seems cool. how did you find voice actors?

I held auditions about a year ago and spread the word through YouTube, Tumblr, and DeviantArt. I specifically requested some of the actors audition (Nettie was pretty much written for the woman who voices her), but for the most part the actors auditioned and e-mailed me their roles. It was really cool!

Thank you! I certainly tried to develop these characters as the show goes on, so I hope I did that well! We'll have to see as it goes on.

i like the realism here in sirenetta's emotions and thoughts. i mean the little things like how she thought about her hair and as a teen i would react the same way her friend did when she found out she never ha frozen yogert. now that i think of it, before sirenetta found out about her past who did she think her parents were?

Initially I was going to give Nettie fake parents who would actually be an enchanted sea-star and jelly fish, but we decided that Nettie could live on her own and believe her parents were still in Atlanta, where she thought she was from. It was one of the smaller plot points that got edited out.

Isn't that incredible!? I'm friends with Isaiah, and I'm so excited for him and all the hype he's getting around his art. He's going to help out on Sirenetta Season 2, and I'm so excited to get to work with him.
