So my work lets us dress up for Halloween, and I want to go as a zombie hunter; but I'm only part way through the costume and now I'm stuck.

So far I have this:

Basically the jacket is the whole base of my idea, haha. I tore up an old t-shirt to use as makeshift makeshift bandages ;) which I will add bloodstains to with red paint or something similar. A few on my arm, and one on my leg that you can just see. I'll probably just wear normal jeans, unless I can find some awesome leather pants in the next two days. My shirt needs to change - the one in the picture just happened to be what I was wearing at the time, and it's not very apocalyptic (though it does say "CLEARLY I HAVE MADE SOME BAD DECISIONS" which I feel is appropriate, haha). I still have to meet the uniform policy, so no boobage or midriff. I have some leather boots that I'll be wearing, too.

Any ideas on what shirt I should wear/any accessories? I'm thinking fingerless gloves, and scrounging up any and all leather belts I can find and using them as holsters, straps, etc. I'll try to find a plastic gun at a cheap shop, because what zombie hunter would leave herself without a weapon in a department store full of mindless demons?

Keep in mind that of course all of this has to be able to be found and/or made in the next two days. So, probably every-day things that could be turned into apocalyptic accessories are what I need. Stuff I can make myself is even better.

Go go go!

Lets see.:thinks:a bandolier with fake ammo, a bowie knife( fake of course) You might be better off getting a fake shot gun, plus the fake pistol. Think like Rambo style an that should cover it.

I think a long weapon would go nicely with your costume, so like a machete or long sword or perhaps a shotgun like suggested might be good. A bow or cross bow might be cool, too. Maybe some textures like a dirty, torn couple of bananas or mesh fabric to wrap around your waist? I think you're off to a great start!

Use a spray bottle for the blood. Leaves a good splatter!

Crossbow would be awesome, but there's probably less chance of me easily finding one. Fabric around the waist has got me thinking that I'll probably want to take the jacket off at some point during the day (we're in air conditioning, but it is summer here (well, it's spring, but I class spring and autumn as summer where I am. Winter is more of a mild summer), and so I'll need some good wounds under it. Belly wound is perfect. Thanks for the inspiration! (Not 100% on what you meant by bananas, though xD)

Since I don't actually want to get any blood on my clothes, I'm thinking I'll let some seep through the bandages, so it'll look like they're covering up a wound. I might use the spray bottle on top of the bandages as well though, just to make it extra gruesome xD

Man, it totally would! I've always thought if I were born in medieval times, I'd be an axe kinda girl. I'll need guns too though, of course. Maybe double pistols in thigh holsters. I'll see what I can rustle up in the bargain shop next to my work - surely they'll have plenty of plastic weapons for Halloween!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! Keep 'em coming ;)

I dressed up as Andrea from The Walking Dead last year. I made a makeshift bullet vest/sash to go with it. I cut up cardboard rolls from toilet paper and paper towels. Then I painted them black and cut off the shoulders strap to a reusable grocery bag and glued them all on it. It looked like this and it was awesome!
