It's storming here... I LOVE getting trick or treaters at my house, but I don't think we'll get any tonight. Bummer.

The upside is that I have two HUGE bowls of candy all to myself if we don't get any kiddos for Halloween!

I just wore my Ren Faire garb. And thank heaven I made it through the day! Halloween in elementary school is Crazy Day. Between parents, political correctness about a holiday thats origins are in a blending of several beliefs, and candy up the wazoo it is pure insanity!

We had SO much rain here... After the rain subsided a bit, we got one last little boy who was dressed up as a knight. After I gave him his candy and talked about how cool his costume was, his dad was telling me how they tried to trick or treat at the mall's halloween celebration, but they ran out of candy in like 10 minutes and they didn't get to get any. His brother was dressed as a dragon, but he was at home and the dad just wanted to take the older brother out so his Halloween wouldn't be ruined. his little bucket had like three pieces of candy, and our house was the last one on the street still giving out candy to the kiddos. My husband and I ended up giving him the ENTIRE bowl full. He was SO excited.

I had a blast, I wore my mushroom costume and got a ton of candy, 3/4 I had to give to my sister/dad/friend because I couldn't eat it. :P It was SO much fun. SO good. SO amazing.

I went dressed as an elf to my work yesterday, and gave every co-worker a cupcake stabbed with glass shards, they were a great hit, some even came back for more.

We had a slightly lower turnout than usual, I think, but the weather didn't really rain. I wore my witch's hat, with a black shawl, and had one young teen say something about 'whoa! full out costume!' - I refrained from telling her 'honey, you ain't seen nothin' yet!', since I really hadn't put much time into it! I think I got rid of about half my candy, so I still have plenty for me and husband and the folks at work to munch on today! I tried to get my other half to take a picture of me, but no luck, so I tried the 'hold the camera up and push the button' selfie... Here is the result... 15539

I had a fun and busy time on Halloween. I spent some time as a fish in my little blow up pool for the kids. They absolutely adored seeing a real mermaid on their trick or treating route. Lots of pictures last night.

Aww, I love everyone's costumes! I love the idea of a mermaid handing out candy. I didn't dress up, but I made my daughter an awesome little black widow costume. :)
